Description
Panorama of 11 photos. This is a 180 degree viewing of a building storm front over western Oklahoma, as the warm southern air met the cool northern air. After the storm front had built and passed over head, it was followed by rain and an intense west wind.

Awesome shot... weve only chased Oklahoma once so far this year and we busted.

I haven't had much luck so far this year...we've had some storms roll through the last several weeks, but they've appeared to be more like the fall/winter storms with dreary, gray overcasts rather than the turbulent spring/summer type storms. Hopefully, this summer will offer some better opportunities for the both of us!
Thanks for checking out my picture!

Oh man...we've had several storms this past week that developed wall clouds and a couple actually progressed into tornadoes. Unfortunately, a good portion of the these storms were in the late hours of the evening and not picture friendly.
How's the weather up north?

It's pretty exhilarating. Oklahoma just "celebrated" the anniversary of the big May 3rd tornado and tornado outbreak from 1999. Can you imagine an F5 tornado over a mile wide rumbling towards you? I've seen some post tornado damage and its amazing. I've literally seen hay straw completely shot through fence post and baseball cards stuck into a wall like razor blades. I just fear the ones that occur at night b/c you can't see them.
If you want to see humor, you oughta come visit during storm season and watch the news channels b/c the weathermen get really amped up with excitement-almost like they are at war with each other over who gives the best storm coverage and footage!

Ha! I guess it does possess its own personality and heritage, which a lot often overlook. Since Oklahoma sits right in the middle of several geological and climate zones, making it very interesting at times.

Wow! Stunning shot. Viewing this as an meteorology student makes it even better
A facinating capture for sure. Your panoramas are great!

That's cool! I didn't know you were a meteorology student! Oklahoma has some pretty crazy weather at times and would probably be a good visit during the spring and summer months to view thunderstorms, super cells, and tornadoes.

Well, I really like your photos with spectacular cloud formations. The landscape is also perfect for such photos, with great, wide fields. Here, in Bergen, there's a lack of such crazy weather.

Yeah, you are right! The openness of the land really gives a sense of freedom. I absolutely love the mountains, but sometimes they make me feel a little corralled and restricted.
