Description
In celebration of that big reveal, here's a sketchdump of previously spoilery sketches that have accumulated over the past two years. There's more, these are just my favorites. I included some future concepts and older concepts, like how I thought the meeting between Ma, Pa, and Daughter would go in the middle left (because I was having one heck of a time trying to work out a good composition) and what it's going to be like with lil Hester on the ship.

I plan on going back and showing what took place between Elsie and Trenton when she dropped the bomb on him (top left) too...

Elsie rarely used physical punishment on Hester (AKA spanking). They mostly just yelled at each other. Trenton uses spanking readily, much to Hester's chagrin.

The one with Trenton combing Hester's hair was directly inspired by my childhood. My sister and I have naturally curly/bushy hair, so my mom had to go through a ton of hair products to find out what would work. Morning routines included pain by comb as she attempted to tame those wild beasts. *shudder* My sister is the only one rocking the curly hair now (and figured out her own routine), and I've been straightening mine, so mom is happily free of having to deal with that anymore!

The idea of Hester wearing her dad's shirt as a night shirt is also because my sister and I fight over who gets our dad's old shirts to use as thrown-together summer pajamas when mom says they look too raggedy (those shirts are great because they're quirky and weird--he has one with the Tasmanian Devil on it that I used to "own" before my sister snatched it >__>). I'm calling dibs on the Justice League one when it gets worn out...

Bottom right: Trenton not only spanks his child, but other people's bratty children too. In loco parentis is something he lives by, especially with the kids of the crew.
