Description Hi all!!

A new tutorial is up!

Some pointers to be aware of!!

Be careful not to burn your self on the boiling water

Only use white or beige towels to let the parts cool of on. The resin will stain very easily when it's soft.

Be careful handling the resin when it's hot. It gets soft and will easily scratch of get dents.

Have good ventilation, since the resin will start to smell a bit when you are warming it up.

How long you boil the parts depends on the parts thickness. I had them in the water between 30 seconds to 3 minutes. On the bigger parts I had them in the water till they started to smell, I then knew they had got a nice boil.

I really hope you will learn something from this

This is amazing! I've both dents to fix and I wanted to get new hands for a doll I'm getting. I'm gonna give this a try on the hands. I'd no idea you could put resin in hot water. Thanks for the cleaning tuts as well!

I know this comment is a while old, but I am curious to know - did this method work?
I want to do the same thing with mine.

You can try it. Just be very careful when you bent the feet, and you have to make sure the foot is soft all way through. If you don't like the end result, just boil it again and it will o back o the original pose let me know how it went!

Delicatesilver [2013-11-20 19:30:08 +0000 UTC]

Question, should you take any precautions here such as wearing a mask or never using that pot again. In all, will the resin become toxic as it boils?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lajvio In reply to Delicatesilver [2013-11-25 01:15:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes, the resin can become toxic. Resin is toxic, that is why should use protection when you work with it, such as sanding and and boiling as well.

Hi again ^^

Just put the head out, and let is cold down on a towel yes.

Yes, Resin is poisonous, but I just give my pots I use a real good clean and use them for other things after that. Just be careful and clean the utilities good and you should be ok

lajvio In reply to Negi-King [2013-10-19 13:43:43 +0000 UTC]

Why would you send it away to get it fixed? If I may ask?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Negi-King In reply to lajvio [2013-10-19 13:47:03 +0000 UTC]

because i have never seen such thing before D: the holes i mean and i didnt nkow how to fix it till i saw your how-to.

and i contacted the person and asked her if she there is some way to fix it since the holes are so tiny and the bump mark too (they dont even show up on camera) , but she said that the way to fix it is with some material called epoxy(??? im not sure what that is)

so thats the reason why i was about to send it.

but im so happy that i found your how-to! thank you so much ~~~

lajvio In reply to Negi-King [2013-10-19 15:13:17 +0000 UTC]

What kind of horrible person would use epoxy to fix up tiny dents and holes? D: Stupido!! I would first tried boiling. If that didn't work I would try and sand the mark (but don't sand on air bubbles, they can ruin more), and if that didn't help, I would try and sprey the head with clear sealant. That can sometimes cover up small things. But epoxy? Yeah, if there were real big holes maybe... I'm glad it worked just boiling your head though

Could this be used to make minor adjustments to the face, like turning up their nose or narrowing their lips?

lajvio In reply to Taku-chan13 [2013-09-12 12:42:36 +0000 UTC]

Change the nose, I think you can do that. Just be careful.

Narrow the lips? I would suggest doing that with sandpaper.

By any chance, would you happen to have a tutorial on how to remove clothing stains on a doll's body?

You can use the Magic Eraser for that.  You can buy that here: www.acbjd.com/doll-cleaner-p-3…
