Amazing...I loved your overview on inking. I'm still having troubles with pen pressure...but I'll get it eventually. Awesome work and keep it up! ^___^

OMG, this is so super-duper helpful, thank you for doing it~!!
!! :'DD!!
I was sort of wondering where you got your brush pen~~ :'33 I've been looking all over for one but I never seem to find any..x_x"" And...on average, how long does a picture like the one you did take?DD: With all the details and stuff, I mean.~ -has no patience whatsoever and is scared to try-

I get my "special" materials - like the brush pen - in bookshop sales and super-hidden shops downtown, so uh. BY CHANCE!
And it takes me around... three to four hours on average, from penciling to inking, for an 8x10 in paper size. Corpus - my current featured deviation - took me 26 hours, more or less, if I recall correctly, from start to finish. 8DDD
It's why I avoid hella HUGE pieces of paper.

Oooh, I see~~ I should start hunting~~ >3>""
*A*"" Three to four hours doesn't sound so bad~~ :'DD
Ahhh, I remember Corpus; 26 hours isn't that long, though, considering all the detail and design involved.OwO""
But huge pieces of paper ARE evil~ x__x"

Aha XDDDD AND THANKS.
Yes they are, especially boards, because their paper is rougher than most and ruins nibs easily.

You're welcome~ xDD
Boards sound scary.x_x" I think the closest I've ever gone to them is eggshell paper~~ >_>""

[He looks at his own inking. A big blob on a white sheet.]
Holy Sheet! [haha, have some laugh, that was a joke >_<]
That's why I keep far away from inks.

Ahaha yes! That's how I learned some of my stuff, too - seeing people work, or just asking them what they do differently from other people. It's very insightful.

I've been practicing! Someday...anyway.
I really need to learn to draw detail like you do though.
Excellent step-by-step thingy. Very helpful.

Seriously, I'd have died in the middle of doing all those details !! AMAZINGGGG *[]* <3
I've never inked traditionally before but it looks like something worth trying *__*
The end picture looks so beautiful .. so so beautiful.
I think I'm going to get myself some inking pens after seeing this.
Thank you very much for this tutorial <3

you use expensive pens... >_>
D8 That's a bummer.
Nice yet complicated technique. Well, it's all in the talent, as they say.

lambchild In reply to kageNOhikari [2007-11-17 09:04:24 +0000 UTC]
They're not expensive; considering the quality, they're very cheap. I'd rather invest in two Uni pens than buy a box of My Gel pens. My Gel pens tend to bleed and its ink isn't compatible with most good papers I use, and it takes so long to dry and it smudges when you erase over it.
I avoid that pen so so much.

hmm do u ever experience that ur hand start to wobble and the line end up scribble.....how do u fix the scribble lined?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
lambchild In reply to ForbiddenImmortality [2007-11-17 05:53:53 +0000 UTC]
Uh, not really? I usually warm up my hand by sketching on a separate piece of paper to get rid of muscle kinks, and I usually ink right after I draw in pencil.
