Description
This is the Gan Ceann, more commonly known as Dullahan. I wonβt go into the legend, thatβs what Wikipedia is for. Suffices to say that this is what The Legend of Sleepy Hallow was based off of. He classically has a whip made of human spi9ne bones, has big eyes and a huge toothy grin. He is a horseman.Related content

I don't know who that is. If it's anime, dont't bother explaining. Anime/Manga rapes western fantasy.

The dullahans of the SSU can also remove their heads but are much more playful. Note the little girl with the pet lamb asleep atop her head

Very neat, they don't look undead though.

In the SSU they're not. They're just a race who can remove their heads!

like how you added a touch of the strange sterotype the creature has gotten, what with the armor.

XD
Well he was a warrior of sorts before death, i think. It's been a long time since i read on Dulahan. I actually drew this picture a year ago, and just colored it now.

dullahan are actually the embodiment of a depose and cruel irish god, who would lift its severed head and call out the name of someone who is about to die.

Yea i read something like that to. Sounds kind of like the banshee legend. But this wouldn't be very practical in a gaming mechanic sense. No one would care if banshees or Dulahan called out any names, especially if your an epic gero. If they hear their name they wouls replay with, i'd like to see it happen, I can hearl fireballs and fly. In other words, there is no interacion between the players and these creatures. And declairing when someone is about to die isn't a particularly interactive game machanic within the bounderies of the rules. The next question would be how. How would my character die? what if it doesn't work and the thief that was predicted to kill me in the bar tonight by the Dulahan didn't make good enough rolls and i killed him instead? Would the Dulahan no longer be a devine being? He would be a fool then.
Things like fate and destiny don't fit in table top gaming worlds, in my opinion, becasue it robe the players of the gaming experience. If i am playing my character right and even made good rolls then why am i dying? If the DM/GM wants to kilme with out any sa on my part or eve4n giving me the ability to TRY and defend myself then why would i want to play? He shoudl just write a book then, not GM/DM a game.
I had to change the banshee for this reason to. The Dulahan and banshee will have an ability that will potentially effect the players, they can roll against it in order to survive and engage in combat with them in order to prevent them from further attemting to harm them. That is the fundamantal design of table top gaming, to play an epic character capable of doing amazing things, not a farmer who an ancient God just makes drop dead. That's no fun.

just stating its origins. it is a prophet if death, not a killer itself.
can see why you don't want it a prophet though.
