If you like this image you may like others in this series: [link]It is possible to do a send up of Raven and Starfire from "Teen Titans Go" without getting kinky. I considered what famous female pairing in cartoons also featured a tall redhead and a small woman with short black hair. Voila: a satire of Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble! I figured that it would be more visualy interesting if I had them doing something humorous. Kitties are always cute. I was very happy with the lighting and reflection effects I incorporated into the composition.

Raven reflected that only the Titans could end up with a supposedly-extinct sabre-toothed tiger as a house-cat. The thing that worried her was the way that 'Stripes' had bonded with Kori's pet slug-thing. The two had started having adventures together and she suspected that no good would come of it.
Meanwhile, she intended to find out why the boys liked to stand there, watching her and Kori watch the great furball rather than help. What was so interesting about two wet females in their swimsuits working away?

The BB aspect never occurred to me. I use Prismacolor pencil and acrylic paint over colored illustration board.

The H-B team got their start on "Tom & Jerry"? Live & learn...and while I was never too crazy about those shorts, they WERE well-animated. I suspect my early interest in Scoob & the gang can be chalked up to age & naivete...I had yet to figure out that except for the later episodes, ALL the monsters were fakes. Ah, to be 6 or 7 again.
The parallel between TT & the X-Men makes perfect sense, even if most of the latter team seem to be perpetual 20/30-somethings.
I&H are 'official,' huh? I clearly don't follow mainstream DC closely enough.

Back when Hanna-Barbera fare made up any sizable percentage of my viewing day, I was more of a Scooby-Doo man...but if the animators had applied anything approaching this style to the Flintstones, I might have paid more attention. Even this sabre-tabby is a cuddly-wuddly upgrade compared to the goofy household-appliance critters which peopled that series. And before I forget, clever combination of Raven's forelocks with Mrs. Rubble's cut in the back.
"Teen Titans," whether the current 'toon or the original 80's (?) comic, is a franchise I haven't followed too closely, but get the general idea. I imagine that Raven & Star here inspire at least as many explicit fanworks as Ivy & Harley.

The Flintstones has the distinction of being the first ever made for prime time television cartoon series. Joe Hanna and William Barbera were both veteran animators from their days working on Tom and Jerry theatrical shorts. When MGM shut down its animation wing in the Fifties, they went with the flow. They came up with a cheap cookie cutter animation formula that would be affordable on the small screen. I refer to doggeral like "Scooby Doo" as hannabarbarities. They were not outdone in cheapness until Jay Ward was the first to outsource animation. "Rocky and Bullwinkle" was animated in MEXICO!
I believe that the original Teen Titans DC comicbook premiered in 1964! There was a bit of an arms race going on between Marvel and DC at the time. It is a fact that the Fantastic Four was created as Marvel's first superhero title in years as a result of a discussion of sales figures of the then new Justice League of America during a game of golf between the publishers of the two comics groups. Teen Titans MAY have been a response by DC to Marvel's premier of the Uncanny X-Men at the end of 1963. It was also a response by DC to the success of its own teen Legion of Superheroes.
"STARAE" as a "slash" exceeds by an order of magnitude the volume of porn devoted to Harley and Ivy. As H&I are officialy acknowledged as comicdom's first "OUT" lesbian couple, depicting them togther isn't considered subversive any more. A relationship between Raven and Starfire has never been officially sanctioned, therefore it generates more fan speculation.
I did this Flintstones crossover as something both FUN and INNOCENT! The focus is not on them but on the cute kitty.
