Description I am so sick to death of my dissertation.

But I'm sure no one wants to know about that. You remember that cargo ship I posted a couple of days ago? Well, this is the ship that's going to blow it into tiny little pieces. The 'hero' ship of my friend's story, the Rapier performs in space more or less the same function U-Boats served under the Atlantic. It's basically a giant laser with a stealth ship attached, designed for sneak attacks on unsuspecting enemy vessels. The central sphere houses/is the transference engine, a big space teleporter that flips the ship over vast differences. The rear section is the reactor and the main drive, the forward section is everything else, including the munitions bay, housing the secondary weaponry, a couple of missle launchers. And of course the 750 mega-joule laser projector.

Oh, and while they have artifical gravity, it's set up along the central axis, so technically you're looking at it on its side, as the crew stand...but not for how it actually flies...oh, you'll see when I get the cross-section finished.

I'm rather proud of this. It's about the most detailed and well-thought out ship I've ever built.

A spacecraft designed with the same function as a u-boat cool. In a way this seems like a lost art because i don't see many steathships in science fiction anymore just battleships with a cloaking device tacked on.

Heh. Thanks. Yeah, sleathships....kind of difficult in space, where any heat is a dead give-away. The Rapier is meant to have a minimal target profile and to run as cold as possible so that it can get as close as possible to a target before firing. No magic cloaking device, just good engineering and a lot of skill on the part of her crew.

Yeah target profiles are very important also I imagine space combat to be very tactical in the future with both side having access to sensor that can identify targets and there capabilitys far before any actual combat would take place. Also i like your art.
