Damn that has peaked my interest when I was thinking about how to make a melee mode for a bow in my RWBY story. I might suggest a collapseable Bo Staff for easy access and storage when not in use.

I know that is a magic weapon, but a collapsable staff will hace many issues with flexibility... and a bow needs flexibility XD
