Description
The standoff had continued for what felt like forever but in reality may have only been seconds before the wild Tokota turned and began to head down the slope. It was then that Atoya saw his paws.

'No claws?' She watched him step over the snow for a few more moments, confirming that he lacked claws on all four of his limbs. Her fear morphed into concerned curiosity.

Truly, meanwhile, had been barking softly at the wild, trying to get its attention but to no avail. The little toki looked shyly back at Atoya, expecting this to be the end of their encounter with the wild but instead the handler began trailing after him.

Truly did her best to keep up with Atoya in the deeper parts of the snow, occasionally needing her help to clear piles that would swallow her whole. The snow seemed to shallow up some and the little toki couldn't help but bound ahead and stretch her legs. They reached a small ledge and just as Atoya began to move to walk down the smoother slope, the snow pile gave out and sent her sliding painfully down to the bottom. Before the same could happen to Truly she lunged off the edge, soaring over Atoya.

When the Toki landed she let out a soft yelp as her paws collided with the cold rock beneath the snow.

The wild, meanwhile, seemed preoccupied with a scent he'd found and paid his two traveling companions no mind.
