It took several hours, but I made a mini one~ (I traced the smaller version of the picture instead of enlarging it) It was so much fun, thank you for both the pattern and the tutorial!

also how the poop do you get the freaking eyes on?!

edolasotakuslayer98 In reply to PotentiallyCute [2013-06-03 22:00:51 +0000 UTC]

you sew the eyes on. that's why there are holes in the buttons. sewing the eyes is probably the easiest thing to sew for this.

If it was easy then I probably wouldn't have asked how to sew them on???

I tried to sew them on but it didn't work, but I found a technique to get them on myself.

Oh ok whatever works for you. I was just trying to help. But then again it would be kinda difficult the sew them on if you already have the stuffing in the scalemate already.

Yeah I'm making my first scalemate too. I'm happy to have found this or else I would have been SO lost. I'm making this for my friend's (very late) birthday and I'm giving it to her at a convention I'm going to this Friday.

It's easiest to sew on the buttons before you stuff the head.

I love the noose part. I'm gonna hang my bunny from the roof with it, as a narcissistic joke. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR.

My roommate is moving out and I wanna scare the shit out of her friends :3 my horns aren't enough, I really gotta just dye my skin grey and get used to black lipstick.

What kind of stitch do you use to attach the head/legs to the body? I'm making some animal plush but this is the first time I make the head separate from the body and I'm having trouble attaching it. >.> Thanks for the tut! I can use it as reference for my own plush.

Out of interest, could this at all be machine stitched?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GardengnomesMomma In reply to ShadowAdam [2012-12-02 17:54:35 +0000 UTC]

Much of it can be made using a sewing machine (I made mine using mostly a sewing machine), but some parts like sewing together the legs and the body and the head and the body cannot be done with a sewing machine. Hope it helped
