Model Challenge forMy OC: Juniper Locke
So here Juniper is modeling two dresses that both took inspiration from the crown in the middle. The dress on the left is a full bodied gown with a layer of ruffles over a crushed velvet undercoat. Of the two dresses this one is much heavier. She has on a Beryl necklace here to better fit with the style and feel of the dress. The green stones in the flowers on belt, as well as hanging from the necklace, and also in the earrings are Emeralds.
The dress on the right much lighter and has a more modern feel to it. The black drap is made of a very light weight material with the green dress under that being a slightly thicker material made to look like crushed velvet. Here her necklace is made from Jadeite.
Both versions have the same crown and earrings as to change that would have changed the whole look of the second dress.
My mouse died just right before I was finished with the dress on the left. This challenge was interesting as I made the dress on the right first. But I hated the chest area of it. So I wanted to make a different dress. But I wanted to keep the one I made first cause I do like it excluding that area. But to make the new dress instead of pushing 'X' and starting fresh I pulled each piece off from the chest area down. Kinda now wish I had gone with a different base color as I did black and green in the Intro but meh. I did what the muse wanted. This is my first time working with the ruffles The chest area of the doll on the left got moved a bit cause of my mouse. I really really don't like using the mouse that comes with my laptop. And before I could saved where I had fixed it my lovely computer decided to update while I was making dinner.

As you can see if I'm left to my own choice on the color palette and I'm given green as one of my colors, then usually I go for green, black, and white. Gotta kick that habit. Lol, a Hufflepuff at heart that uses Slytherin colors cause I have a love hate relationship with Black and Gold.

Note From Echo: Ha ha! Well those are great color choices after all. Slytherins are pretty classy looking! I'm definitely a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw too! Not sure which. I always forget what the requirements were anymore. It's been a long time since I read the books.

I'm glad you like the ruffles. I hadn't used the ruffles on the Snow Queen design before that. It had double the amount of ruffle layers but I took out every other row cause it just looked to much. I got the idea for the ruffles cause I had just recently made two rainbow dresses using the princess maker. And from 's cake dress. Which is amazing.
I really like the way the necklace, earring, and crown all turned out.

Lol, I really like the dresses but still kinda wish I had used a different color from black. Even though I like black as its more forgiving to mess up. Especially when her hair is black too.
Yeah most of the details on the crown were added while I was adding the pearls. LOL, you can't see it now but there was a "lovely" goof up spot on the slit dress that I covered up by adding the long sleeves.

love both, but the left seems more suited to the crown, though I would hate to wear so many layers, unless it was winter

Yeah it does. When I was making the crown I kept adding to it, mostly cause I was taking a break from those pearls. Originally that crown was more of a tiara and much much smaller. But when I decided to make a second dress I had a general idea in my head and the crown fit it better then the slit dress. So I made my job so much "funner" and pulled each piece of the slit dress off.
Glad my mouse waited till I was adding the ruffles on the other dress before it died. Yeah winter would be the only time it would be good to wear that on as velvet is heavy and really hot to wear. That dress has a small hoop frame in my mind to help keep it shape. And several petticoats. So old style dress, but the crown made me think of royalty.

I do like the final look of the of the crown. With the tiny little emeralds and flower gem center piece. I put the flowers on both dresses. But the slit dress has the gems under the flower while the ruffle dress does not. Lol, the flower belt was a last minute addition cause I didn't like the way the waist looked before adding it.
Yep, wireless mouse. On my mother's old laptop as well. My laptop over heated and melted its power cord about a year ago. Kinda wish I had got a new one but I didn't.

I'm glad you think so. I really like both dresses and after doing both I'm glad I hated the chest area enough to do a second dress. However if I had to pick one that I'd rather wear I'd pick the one with the slit. Even though I don't like the way the chest looks. It just looks like it would be fun to wear. It was a fun, but long process making both dresses.
