Description
Hershey paused in her cleaning and looked up, hearing the faint sounds of someone sobbing. She was currently babysitting cream while vanilla was out doing some errands, and the sound could mean only one thing.
"Cream? cream are you alright?"
Hershey made her way through the mansion, tracking down the source of the crying, and soon found cream laying on a couch. The poor girl was clearly upset. Hershey sat down and helped the young girl up, gently rubbing her back to comfort her.
"Cream, dear. What ever is the matter?"
Cream looked up at Hershey, her large eyes red.
"Oh Hershey," she sobbed. "I had a big fight with Amy. I, I said some horrible things to her. I didn't mean it though. I was just so angry."
Cream leaned into her friend as Hershey hugged her.
"I feel so bad now."
Hershey hugged the young rabbit, smoothing out her hair gently.
"It'll be alright, cream," she said. "We all fight with out friends at times. I'm sure that Amy knows you didn't mean the things you said."
She gave cream a small smile.
"Why don't you ring her and apologize?"
"I, I don't know how to," Cream said, fresh tears dampening her cheeks. "I don't know what I should say. What if she doesn't want to be my friend anymore?"
"Cream, Amy will always be your friend."
The cat gently rocked the young rabbit, trying to calm her down. Softly she began to sing, her sweet voice soothing the emotional girl. Cream looked up, wiping her eyes, and took a few deep breaths. As Hershey finished her song, the young girl smiled sadly.
"That was beautiful," Cream said. "Thank you for trying to cheer me up, Hershey."
Her eyes drifted towards the ground and she folded her hands together.
"Listen, Cream," Hershey said. "I think I have a solution to the problem."
A flash of hope flickered in Cream's eyes.
"You do?"
Hershey nodded and stood up, offering her hand to Cream.
"Come on," Hershey said. "Let's go find Amy and repair what damage has been done. I promise you, it will all turn out fine."
Together Cream and Hershey set off, the older cat quickly phoning Vanilla to tell her of their plans. Cream was a sweet young girl, and Hershey was determined to set things right for her. It was the least she could do...
