Monster for Conceptart.org's creature of the week O__o the topic was arctic carnivore or some such. I'm ashamed to say I didn't put all that much effort into the design, cause I was really just goin for some toothy ugly beast bearing down on some poor guy. And I've tried to improve the background a bit since I entered this like a week or so ago, but I couldn't seem to get it right
ah well. It was fun to draw anyway.hope you like?

I love that it's a giant...Also that it looks kinda like a tree if it were positioned the right way...I'd hate to be thinking its just a tree and start climbing and then...Dying.

Im not sure ican really give some "advanced critique" but iwill say that the last set of legs kinda look like they are dissappering in to distant too early and the mountains look abit different from the stlye used on the monster and the OMG-IMA-NUT-GUNNA-LIEK-THIS guy. (but wadda iknow? Icant draw for toffee and ilike toffee!)
Any who this pic is jus awesome! the hair is so...well frigging real looking! and that RPG Motivational Poster underestimated that monster...sometimes you need a tank and lots of em!

Everything about this makes me excited. The scale of it, the composition, the design of the creature, the intensity of the scene, the mood, the flowing hair on the thing, white, easy to camouflage itself in the snow despite it's size, I love it! You think your stuff out. I have to say, I'm new here and falling in love with artists daily, but you are the first to make me laugh out loud with how much I enjoy your works. Thanks.

just a though, sorta off topic, but I would think, because the scarsity of wildlife in the arctic, that arctic carnivors would be reletivly small. Simply put, something that big would never be able to find enough food on a daily basis

i would NOT want that thing in my face... XD when i think arctic i think blue hues, but the colors you used work so nicely, the blue hued snow against the seal brown. advanced crit... uh.... para mi, the lightening of the receeding legs happens a bit too quickly. start dulling them down a little more on the third set of legs back to soften the blow.

This is such a pleasant design! I love the nightmarish yet maliciously friendly design of the creature portruding, extended neck-belly combination with the gaping jaw and dangling pony hair is a inspiring touch. This really inspires me to speedpaint ^_~

reminds me much of starcraft Zerg... but anyways I love the concept and idea and well the picture really. one note. I noticed the hand (monsters right hand) is in the snow. Is he emerging from the snow or walking on it... because i'm thinkin maybe (if walking on it) the snow would be more indented.... if emerging then it be cool with some snow on top of him falling off or something.

Not really knowing shit about art I'm gonna try to give some constructive critiscism (sp?) anyway. I am not sure where the creature ends, and I don't think that it is a fade into the distance sort of thing. Somewhere past the 3rd set of limbs it gets sorta fuzzy. The last set of legs is distincively (sp again?) there and part of it, but there is that long tail thing? Or is it wake in the snow? That seems to go at least half way to the distant mountains. It seems to me that said mountains are at least a mile away. This this is obviously big, i mean HUGE, but I wonder if it is a mile long. Option B is that I'm retarded and seeing this all wrong. . . . certainly a possibility. Suffice to say wonderful job, I always enjoy your stuff and I hope that you continue.

But seriously, awesome work, Liz. Your total-picture composition and quality are improving rapidly. Have you started putting your portfolio together for colleges yet? Most places let you submit on cd now, so submitting a lot of these would be no problem.
