I hope so. I only just now realized how dependent I've become on this thing, because I wouldn't have seen this comment for hours if I hadn't refreshed.

I wish this was for Firefox and Opera.

Apparently it already works for Opera, just not in the official store.
It may work for Firefox in the future.

Hey there. This may be a possible bug. Yesterday I was cooking all day with my brother and we were using my computer to watch youtube videos. When I checked my messages, one of my friends said I never responded to her messages yet it looked like I was online when I really wasn't. So I'm wondering if the message notifier app makes your account look online when you're on the internet, even if you don't have dA up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

logeg In reply to Dawnrex15 [2015-09-13 17:58:09 +0000 UTC]

Quite possibly so. If dA considers any request (and not just a page view) to be "activity", then users of dA would be constantly "active" as long as your browser is running.
I'm not sure if it's the case here though.

Dawnrex15 In reply to logeg [2015-09-13 18:00:16 +0000 UTC]

Huh, then what do you think it might be?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

logeg In reply to Dawnrex15 [2015-09-13 18:05:35 +0000 UTC]

"we were using my computer to watch youtube videos"
"it looked like I was online when I really wasn't"

How do you define "online" then?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnrex15 In reply to logeg [2015-09-13 18:07:50 +0000 UTC]

Well, for here, online usually means when your status is green on the friend list or when it says "online now" in your 'recent activity' bar.

Hello, with Windows 10 just out, is there a way to have notifications to the Windows 10 Action Center?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

logeg In reply to Mikey186 [2015-08-06 05:56:14 +0000 UTC]

Haven't thought about that, but maybe-if-less-detailed. I need you to test something - do notifications fromΒ aurelio.audero.it/demo/web-not… appear in the Action Center? (don't have Win10 handy to test)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mikey186 In reply to logeg [2015-08-06 05:57:38 +0000 UTC]

I tested it, but it wont come on the Action center

Then, no chance, unless Chrome adds support somehow.

Since The Notification Update, The Extension's Not Working Properly (For Me Anyway). It Doesn't Say 'X New Items' Or Has The Orange/Yellow Highlight. It Also Doesn't Reset The Green Number After Checking The Messages.

logeg In reply to VCFerreira [2015-04-03 20:46:10 +0000 UTC]

Simple answer? I don't use Firefox as a main browser.

It takes a lot of effort to port things over and ongoing effort to support.

I initially wrote this as a Chrome replacement for an existing Firefox add-on, deviantAnywhere . Though I'm afraid the author of it quit supporting it.

I might be reacting a little early to this, but here: dA recently decided to force "promoted" deviation into our message boxes. Of course this is not tooglable, and looking back to all they've done wrong recently, I don't think they'll ever remove that feature.
Do you think you think it's possible to make dA notifier automatically detect and dismiss promoted deviation?

Just throwing an idea out of the blue. ^^"

logeg In reply to Estecka [2015-01-23 21:43:36 +0000 UTC]

"Advanced >Β Consider Promoted content new" - it's been there ever since they enabled this feature, that is May 2013
It won't clear your inbox of it, but at least you won't be notified.

1) This is opt-out for paid users.
2) There is an option in the Notifier (off by default) to ignore those!

I'm not sure if it's currently working properly though.

Unfortunately, I have no interest myself porting this to other browsers. Except maybe an official extension for Opera, since the tech is the same.

It is a bug, but I can't diagnose it without knowing more. It should provide diagnostic info for you to copy.

I'm having the same or a similar problem--but on vanilla Chrome. The widget just does not want to widge, and when I take a look at the background page, it gives this error message: "Uncaught ReferenceError: webkitNotifications is not defined"

Thank you very much! I got this and it totally works! I've always wanted to have something like this instead of just going directly to my DA page and refreshing it to becoming a zombie.

I understand why a mobile app would be completely out of the question, but this still works while freely browsing anywhere and being alerted of DA messages at any time! Thanks again!
