Description
Not a very creative title for this scifi-like character, but this piece was meant as a sample of some new things I have been working on.This is a variation of the maid I just posted. The intent is to give some reference for a new 3D Cel shading library I have been developing. This technique gives more of a painted look than the manga style used previously.

I'm not sure how helpful it will be, but I wrote a tutorial once. I have advanced the techniques since then. So the tutorial is a little out of date.

Interesting, I took a look at both. Looks like we're both getting into some more of the nitty gritty in our fields. I think what will work out real snazzy is when you bring these different techniques together so you could have shiney cloths, flat skin and textured hair... not necessarily photo realism but who knows what you might turn out.
I wonder if you could mimic a stained glass window picture type effect with this technique you're using here?

Ooooo... oh boy did I use aoi!
You should also try setting brilliance to 0 in your finish statements sometimes. This is how I am getting the cartoon effect. (That and playing with ambient levels.)

hey, that looks great!
hm, but as you surely know, the Shadows need some work, since they look on the Face weird.

This really looks great, especially in a smaller Picture.
Even if you change the pose, it keeps looking like that? incredible.

Sharp and crisp shadows work nicely with this shading style and the colors looks great too. The highlights on the face are kinda distracting, though. I like how this shader preserves much color details on the outfit. Good job!
