Still playing with anime cel shading. Povray's lack of anisotropic speculars is driving me nuts as I just can't get the hair highlights to something I like.Regardless, this character was just to cute not to share with everyone.

:hm: I thought that some of those effects could be programmed in prior to starting up the render in PoVRay? Or at least simulated in some degree on a particular object.

There are some hacks to the code out there... but you have just reminded me that I could possibly fake the effects by using a specular map or normal maps....
If that pans out I will owe you a debt of thanks.

AnimeDoll is the easiest and best figure to produce good toon renders because she was created with simple materials for that purpose. She looks good even in Poser's default toon modes - can't sat the same about other figures, even Aiko because her eyes are textured.
