Well, I'm not sure how everyone else is going to feel about this one, but it is going to be one of my personal favorites.
Ok, now that I've got my obligatory 3D chest, err.. "chess" piece render out of the way, I can move onto other things.

This one is great. I'd love to see the whole chess set. I especially like how her suit texture matches the texture of the background pieces.

Take it with a grain of salt.
I don't do all my all modeling. Most of the models are pre-made and rigged for posing. It is a matter of combining them into interesting scenes. I, typically, just do my own modelling when I can't find something in my library.
However, I do some modeling and I do a heavy, heavy, amount of custom material creation, texturing, posing, morphing, camera setup, character design, scene setup, and lighting.
(for some reason, all that extra stuff means nothing to the 3D purests out there... go figure....)

texturing...one of the biggest things I can't get. character design means nothing to some people? those people need some lessons in actual 3d creation...if you don't have a character design, what are you going to model?

Hey my chess board looks like that just not with such a good polished reflection, and definitely not with such a cool looking black knight. She looks like shes about to kill the opponent. I like the skulls and the hilts of the blades.

I was wondering where did that outfit come from, and if this model is really AnimeDoll or Madoka (people are not making much new outfits for AD nowadays)? That flowing hair looks really good, and makes me wonder if it's entirely 3D or postwork? Amazing how good AD (Madoka?) looks good here, good job! ^^

Sorry, she's a V2/AnimeDoll hybrid.
The V2 body has had the Sarah Spriteling deformers applied to her.
I've gotten addicted to the hair. It is the A3 Mitsu hair from DAZ. I shouldn't use is so heavily, but it's just soooo anime...

On second look it does give the Black knight a kind of distance and separation from the viewer in that you can't see her eyes. I love all the textures and reflections
