Description
The first of 4 Modesty covers for me this year with a closer view of Modesty thrown in for good measure...the issue just hit the streets so it should be okay to post the artwork.Pencil sketch, painted in photoshop.
No beautiful women were harmed in the painting of this cover.

Dave man!!!! This piece is fantastic!! She looks killer, love the sword and blood running down her arm too! Did you use a model at all? I'm floored by this piece!

Cheers Vin! I don't usually have the option of using a model, but for this one I was fortunate enough to use my best friend as a base figure and I bought the sword as a prop for the picture.

Cheers! I actually bought the sword as a prop so I could paint it - then spent more time painting it than her face for this. I'll have to use it in another painting sometime to make it more financially worth it!

Is so pretty, and the cut in her arm makes me feel tha sensation of pain, you give it a real touch of pain ... wow ....

Thanks Victoria! Fortunately I didn't have to cut myself to see what it looked like - had to do a little research on how cuts look for another job and applied my knowledge from that.

Modesty Blaise is a pulp action hero - a kind of female James Bond - first introduced in 1962. Peter O' Donnell, the characters creator, wrote a series of fun action novels and there was a long running newspaper strip of her in England - this particular comic book title collects those newspaper strips and prints them as full stories.
