This Greasemonkey Script is Obsolete as of deviantART v6's Release
You can now use deviantART's native Random Love-ish buttons using the following steps:
DescriptionThis script adds two buttons to the Main Toolbar. One which directs you to a Random Deviant and the other to a Random Deviation (using the inbuilt dA Random Link as shown at FAQ #535: Can I search for a random Deviant/Deviation? ).
TRY AND MAKE deviantART A BETTER PLACE
I have added a thread in the Suggestion Forum here to try and appeal to the powers-that-be to consider incorporating user creations, like this script, into the deviantART website itself, rather than relying on userscripts. Please visit the thread and lend your voice to this appeal.

- Install it, of course.
- Get the GreaseMonkey Extension
- Restart Firefox (to Initialise the Extension)
- Click HERE and select "Install"
- Enjoy!

Well, until the powers-that-be implement it into the actual site code, this GreaseMonkey script will provide that functionality to anyone using the script.
Here's to hoping that the popularity of this script doesn't go un-noticed by the admins...

Yeah, the DD was definitely a start, and a very welcome surprise too...
I have started a thread in the Suggestions Forum to try and garner support for setting up a system to evaluate and integrate userscripts into the dA infrastructure. Basically recognising work that has been done by some users to make the dA-universe a better place and build those features into the site itself.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love the frequent flyer miles. But telling the pilot to turn around mid-flight so I can be back at work the next day would likely end with an air marshal doing unspeakable things to me...

I cant install Greasemonkey
I have FF 1.0.7

You should upgrade your Firefox to 1.5.0.1 (the current build), then you can use GreaseMonkey 0.6.4
Alternately, I think that the earlier version of GreaseMonkey may still be available if you want to continue using Firefox 1.0.7
This script should run on either.

The only problem I have with random deviant is all the dead accounts.

Yeah, dead accounts can be frustrating.
However, I have found some wonderful art in accounts which are just no longer active.
Newer doesn't always mean better, I guess.

See I'm surprised that those random butttons are normally part of the navigation. I just have the randoms bookmarked, but I love that now I can have cool icons.
