Install: [dActive.user.js ]*** FIXED***
Updated to work with dA's new page layout.
This script will let you see if certain people are currently in dAmn and what rooms they are in, without making you sign in to dAmn to do a /whois.
CAVEATS:
- Does not use any built-in dAmn functionality. Requires that others also use this script before you can tell if they are online or not.
- Uploads your username and a list of rooms to my server every five minutes.
- Does not update room list when you /join or /part, you have to wait the five minutes.
Definite room for improvement, but I rather like the idea of seeing if a particular person or three are currently in dAmn, without having to open it up myself and running one /whois after another.
Requires Firefox and Greasemonkey .

Its doing that to me too, but it does it every time I go onto a new page on dA, even if I dont try clicking it.
Going to have to uninstall, even though its nice, I don't want to have to click off an error every time I go to a new webpage.

i just reset my firefox profile, GM scripts got deleted...i reinstalled this script and this message came
"Error, user already registered"

That would require that I create a connection to dAmn, then perform a series of /whois lookups. Using my personal server I'm able to make the script much more responsive, and eliminate the need for a dAmn connection

I've been using this for a day now and it's really great. I have next to no doubt that it's something that dA will implement in the future, but you rock for having done it now already, especially for letting us use some of the precious bandwidth on your server!
It really works well, the only problem is that it lags now and then and takes a little while to load, but I guess that's to be expected when it connects to a third party server, and it's still a great extension. I, for one, am happy that it does not connect to dAmn to get the information, as that would probably introduce more lag since it would have to run a lot of whois commands at once which would not only load both the server and client but would also lag additionally if there's any latency between the user and the dAmnServer, and especially seeing as the userinfo packets get back one-by-one and not in a single packet.
All in all a great extension that's well implemented! Splendid!

I'm hoping to get a new host soon that'll let me increase the update frequency, as right now I only have it at five minutes. Hopefully a new host would have better response times, too
I wonder if there's any dA staff member that I could talk into writing a little script to output bulk dAmn status in real time...

It's actually separate from your dA friends list. You can add anyone you want to this list and they'd never even know
