“This serpentine creature is quite the sight to behold, as well as a sound to hear. The Bassilisk is a being of sound, being both exceptionally loud and exceptionally dangerous. Legendary serpents, the Bassilisk certainly has a reason to be feared, from its concentrated blasts to its petrifying ability, exceptionally quick and smart to boot, facing one can truly be a life or death encounter. Moreover, no area is safe, as its variants cover the land, sea, and sky. Nonetheless, the species as a whole has an average lifespan of 70 years, reaching adulthood at 3 years of age. Moreover, the Bassilisk is renowned for its ability to concentrate Galern Magic in sound blasts that the Bassilisk would use as a weapon or tool. Furthermore, all Bassilisks have the ability to store up energy and magic for one all out attack, which would petrify the target if successful, the best way to avoid this is to pay attention to the Bassilisk’s stomach, as its stomach indicates how long until the beast drops the bass. Cobra Bassilisks are regarded as the largest of the species, growing up to be 60 feet or 18.29 meters in length. Physically, this Bassilisk can be identified by its organ-like hood and stone-like skin, this hood is capable of firing blasts in rapid succession in a similar fashion to a mortar. Moreover, this variant is discernible by its ability to burrow into the earth and travel underground. Combined with their Galern Magic, the Cobra Bassilisk is capable of causing concentrated tremors and pitfalls to trap its prey. This variant is also capable of using Terra Magic. Furthermore, the Cobra Bassilisk is capable of launching various boulders at its target instead. It is generally believed that Cobra Bassilisk is the strongest variant out of the three, having both versatility and raw power. Socially, this beast lives alone, only nesting with a mate once or twice in its lifetime. When bearing young, the Cobra Bassilisk is even fiercer. Barring entrance to its nest at all costs.”

“An elegant and deadly adversary, the Feathered Bassilisk, watches the skies. They can be found in the Air biome and at mountain tops. Feathered Bassilisks have an average length of 50 feet or 15.24 meters. Physically distinct by its elegant feathers, adorned throughout its body. Its top horns are positioned facing downwards, alongside subwoofers on its stomach, this allows them to use Galern Magic to fly and glide. Along its spine, the Feathered Bassilisk has large horns facing out, this allows them to speed up rapidly, reaching Mach 1 in some cases. Although a majority of its body is purposed to allow optimal flight, the Feathered Bassilisk is a master of Galern Magic as a whole, able to cast complex spells to attack as well. Socially, Feathered Bassilisks live in small groups, nesting with others for added protection. The beast itself has been featured in many legends and tales, commonly told by Aves and Stormkin. The Feathered Bassilisk is typically depicted as a malevolent force.”

“The Diver Bassilisk strikes fear to most, if not all, aquatic life, as it pursues through the sea. Found in shorelines, oceans, and subterranean caves, this Bassilisk makes it home near the sea at all times. Diver Bassilisks have an average height of 40 feet or 12.19 meters, making them the smallest amongst the Bassilisks. Physically, this variant can be identified by its smoother skin and bluish hue. Like Feather Bassilisks, the Diver Bassilisk has small horns alongside its spine to help it swim at incredible speeds. This variant is an ambush predator, striking quickly and then blasting away. Alongside their speed, the Diver Bassilisk is capable of using Aquanna Magic as either a tool or weapon. Socially, Diver Bassilisk live in pairs. Once reaching maturity, a Diver Bassilisk will find a mate and then live and fight with them for the rest of their life. Adorably, Diver Bassilisks are often seen giving gifts to their mate.”

“A fact that still confuses me to this day is how a Bassilisk, no matter how beastly, has an incredible singing voice and is intelligent enough to comprehend music, vocals, and language. One of the best baiting tactics is to set up a stage for it to sing.
