Description “Day 57 of this event. How tragic, there are only 4 days left. Although this work was tiring, I enjoy this immensely. Anywho, we are discussing quite the species, the Ruined Life.”
“Ruined Life; [Roo-ined Lahyf]”
“Following my sober feeling, the Ruined Life is quite the heart-wrenching group of individuals. More of a unique classification of undead, the Ruined Life are a specialized group of undead creatures and monsters who have undergone severe changes to their physicalities and behaviors. Although unsuccessful necromancy and resurrection are often theorized to be at fault, recent theories believe that hate and trauma are the root cause of this transformation. It’s believed that when a creature dies with immense rage, physical trauma, or mental anguish, their soul is forever trapped in their immaculate corpses. These bodies undergo several physical changes alongside the continuous and excruciating process of decomposing. On all accounts these mournful creatures are immensely aggressive and outright deadly to everything and anyone they encounter. Extreme caution is advised, these once beautiful and elegant creatures are cursed with living death, and cannot take it anymore. Their hostility is unmatched as they would attack their own kin, their past species, and themselves.”

“Dragon; [Drag-uhn]”
“Oh how the noble have fallen, the legendary True Dragons is only one of the many examples of Ruined Life. Typically found in their place of death, these Ruined Dragons will continue to live in their deathbed. With a rare subset of the variant traveling to gravesites and deserts. Cursed with painful immortality, these Ruined Dragons will live until killed, as not even their decomposition would kill them. Ruined dragons will keep their height they bore when alive. Physically recognizable by their skeletal appearance and rotting, black scales, Ruined Dragons are the undead terrors of the sky. Even though their wings are torn beyond use, a Ruined Dragon can still fly. Remarkably fearsome, it is believed that these True Dragon variants are even stronger than their living counterparts. Magic wise, these irate creatures still retain their magic affinities when they lived, with the additional or strengthened affinity toward Abyssal Magic. Ruined Dragons are iconic for their glowing arcana, pulsing in their decaying bodies in vain, these will light up significantly when the individual is attacking. No matter their original variant of True Dragon, Ruined Dragons are an aggressively solitary and territorial beast. With individuals nothing more than bloodthirsty terrors of scorn and hate. Even their speech is abhorrent and decaying into madness.”

“Bassilisk; [Beys-uh-lisk]”
“Similar to the Ruined Dragon, the Ruined Bassilisk is the sorrowful remains of the once elegant singers of Bassilisks. These Ruined Bassilisks are often found roaming the plains, grasslands, plateaus, and deserts of the world. With a knack for causing destruction in their wake. Similar to Ruined Dragons, these Ruined Bassilisks are cursed with immortality, with their average size similar to their living counterparts. Physically these serpentine creatures are nothing but bone, their only semblance of self being their horns. Although they lack the lungs and the output for their sound, Ruined Bassilisk are fully capable of their signature sound attacks. However in place of song, Ruined Bassilisks merely shriek and moan. These Ruined Life are incredibly dangerous, however they are the easiest to identify, although they are immensely quick, Ruined Bassilisks make constant wails. Socially, they are outright hostile towards anything that comes near.”

“Wendigo; [Wɛndɪˌɡəʊ]”
“Fueled by hate and trauma, the Wendigo is an interesting variant of Ruined Life. As they can be formed from Beastfolk and common animals all the same. Moreover, they have gained many strengths in this state of living death. Often found in wooded areas, these beasts are a rare sight, only really found at night. They have an unknown lifespan, with an average height ranging from 7 feet or 2.13 meters to 14 feet or 4.27 meters. Physically, these beasts are slender in build, boasting their skull and skeletal ends to their limbs. With their mass made of an unknown composition of materials. In this state the Wendigo boasts great strength and remarkable speed, but their most renowned feat is their terrifying intellect. Wendigos are deceptively cunning, bearing a terrible cry that sounds farther away when they are close. Wendigos will stalk their targets relentlessly, breaking their target’s mind, then their body. Moreover, this grasp of sanity allows these creatures to manipulate others and drive them to kill. Unknown social behaviors, Wendigos are never seen interacting with anything other than killing. Interestingly these beasts bear a deep hatred for Humans.”

“Rott; [Rott]”
“The final notable variant of Ruined Life, the sorrowful Rott is the gruesome transformation of Feast Beasts. Rotts can be found almost anywhere, with no sense of pattern. Interestingly, Rotts are the only one of this list to bear a lifespan, having no skeleton Rotts will slowly decay into nothing. This process of rot takes 12 years from the initial transformation. Physically, their size and composition is highly variable. In a state of constant decomposition, Rotts have lost major motor functions and resort to slime-like means of movement. As a mass of rot, Rotts are incredibly potent in fungus and bacteria, a single cut or bite from them could kill you faster than most poisons. Worse yet, these beasts will initially target Feast Beasts and plant species, who will then succumb to the decay and assimilate into larger and stronger Rotts. When strong enough, these wretched beasts will target and begin to assimilate other creatures into their mass. Nigh immune to physical damage, magic and fire are the only conformed way to kill these creatures. Even then Rotts are ridiculously durable, with only a single piece of them left Rotts could regain its lost mass through assimilation of foods and begin the process all over again. Socially unique,  Rotts travel in large groups and will work with one another on a common goal. It’s said that their mind is the last to rot away.”

“Their origin pinned to their initial death, their gruesome fates are believed to cause this state of hostility on revenge. This state of living death helps illustrate the sanctity and power a soul bears, no matter the creature, ancient or recent, large and small; the soul of a creature is incredibly powerful and must be respected as such. The nature of souls is still relatively unknown, with the Serpentine Demons knowing their power best. These Demons aren’t morally corrupt however, they are tasked to continue the sanctity of life by collecting souls and honoring the fallen by allowing them to be reborn by the gods once again. These souls are doomed to live in constant pain and anger, jailed eternally in ruined bodies, the most humane act one can do is to relieve them from their mortal coil.
These miserable creatures only know their own sorrow and solace, beyond repair they sit and rot. In a sentence of eternal hell and anguish, they’ll never be themselves again.”
