Description
i know, it's somewhat large. the original was rendered at 6168x18456 and i wanted to keep as many of the fine details as possible... off on the wrong foot there with fractals, i know...anyway, i really like the downright alien look on this one! i was gonna call it "arcitecture", but that would probably be stretching the double meaning a bit too far and the implied pronunciation is rather lewd.

hmm, I'm somewhere between seeing cells of some organism or strange cathedrals ... and in a way, it's calming.
interesting.

appreciated, esp from such a talented, real artist!
what's especially interesting to me is how differently we see things; to me, this work is somewhat unremarkable, because it was technically easy - however non-techies seem to like it a lot more. very interesting

guess, it's a question of perspective - whether you regard it as something aesthetic and inspiring or as a technical challenge ... in a way, art vs. sport.
my favorite point of view is an amalgam of both, but I've got pretty much no expecience how to do fractals, let alone how to code them.

I completely understand why you would wish to publish it this large, even at this size I admit I wish I could see it larger.

feel free to note me with a desired size (bearing in mind the 1:3 aspect ratio) and an email address
thanks for the fav!

Awesome, the fine details look amazing... I also like black on white, looks good.
I think it might need some better antialiasing though. That's insane.

it's ever so subtly not b&w btw (had enough of that working on the sequel ). this is something i've been experimenting with lately to give symmetrical images an ever-so-slight feeling of asymmetry. i might have gone a bit overboard on 'grow', but i think it works well here (although it's given away in the not-full-view which clearly shows the different brightness and colouring etc).

thanks the preview never does any of my over-sized renders justice... i've been thinking about making two polls: should i submit smaller images, and would anyone you know (Ξ³Ξ½ΟΞΈΞΉ ΟΡαΟ
ΟΟΞ½
possibly buy an outrageously detailed print of them?

Yeah, do the polls, I like polls. Its fun to hear what people say.

I thought that's what that was. Did you do it in Ultra Fractal...

nevaaar! a quick zoom to 200% in photoshop will verify this i think ultrafractal would struggle with the colours (cf. [link] and [link] more than this piece, since the colouring is muted here so as not to detract from the structure), extremely high resolution rendering and ridiculously high quality antialiasing.
i've integrated grandma's recipe into my program, and eagerly await the results of *Aexion integrating it into his! both of us will be using it in highly unkosher ways, and i'll eventually get to writing a specialised ray tracer for it. the older ray tracers i've written (some examples of which are in my gallery and scraps) are too general purpose to handle tens of millions of spheres effectively unfortunately, so the global illumination will have to be coded from scratch again etc.
oof
