This is a really amazing piece, I am impressed with just how many things this scene can be representing. Fractals really are great for letting observers come up with just what exactly the scene depicts and I'm having trouble trying to figure out what it depicts. Is it a comet hurtling through space? An asteroid flying through the atmosphere of a planet? A city floating in the clouds? Or is it a block of matter, being ripped apart molecule by molecule by a black hole?
I think the black and white color really help enhance how striking the image is, it really is dynamic and the color tones really reinforce that. It is a little minimalist, in respect to the patterns, but those patterns and deep details are what get highlighted with B&W.
Very, very nice work!

appreciated mate the visual ambiguity is lessened somewhat for me, through the course of designing it to look like something i had in mind (a "radial fractal city"), but i know the effect you mean of course -- a less extreme example of [link]

Thats the best time to get ideas too, but I always seem to forget them once I *finally* fall asleep! Good luck on your new program, and finals too!

Really like this one. Quite something if I assume correctly in that it's your own software. Very impressive... as the artistic merit shines here as much as the technical aspects of the piece.

i've made plenty of ignored releases in the past... not much effort is necessary, i promise
i do suspect that the renderer which made my latest deviation will attract more interest than my previous ones, however.

actually the native res on this one is 23k by 14k, and it rendered in an hour - i sat and watched it
i'm really glad you like it, your approval is a good indicator of quality
