Thanks, this animation is kinda simple if you break it down: character running very far away so I only had to draw it as dot, horizon is just straight line which is easy to animate etc. all of this made it much easier to make it smooth

Hey, is there a good place to reach you other than deviant art? Also, can I upload this to sakugabooru? And if so, what do you want me to credit you as? This is amazing and I want to share it!!!

Wow thank you ^^
My twitter  would be that place (I post every animation also there)! Sure, you can upload this to sakugabooru, we'll see if this is up to those high standards that they have. Just credit me as "Lzyboost" ^^

I thought someone shared my stuff somewhere since my followers, watchers and.. well, all kinda exploded haha! I would like to see that page, all animation related interests me ^^

Wow, that's a lot of praise, haha, thank you!
If you want to learn animation I recommend getting book called "The Animator's survival kit" by Richard Williams , there's also this nice video series that teaches you "the 12 principles of animation " aaand video about timing and spacing, very useful: link   (for me it was eye opener) ^^ Start with simple exercises (bouncing ball etc) and when you feel comfortable with those go up a notch.. and so on and so forth, here's couple of places where are lists of some exercises: link1  link2   Look and study real life when making you animations. Sorry for the lengthy reply haha ^^

Wow, I'm speechless, thank you! ^_^ though I think any animation from actual action animators can easily top this : D

You're welcome---

I just,,, I love everything

At first, you'd think "oh, what a cool, normal animation" anD THEN THERE'S THIS HUGE PLOT TWIST AT THE END AND I LOVE IT

and the expression and just

I love the messy kind of style of it actually, it gives a whole other kind of,, rushed feel to it which makes the ending even better and it's just

Lzyboost In reply to Acceril [2017-01-26 13:00:13 +0000 UTC]

Haha, nice that you like that twist, I did plan something totally different to happen; character punching that boulder and then it to explode to small cubes, but thought it's better to explore that on a separate animation :3

How does one develop such an advanced understanding of 3d place?

With practice and luck maybe :'D If you are interested I can try to explain how I did this one

Lzyboost In reply to Sneiks [2017-01-20 20:57:43 +0000 UTC]

Cool! Okay, here goes:
1. I had idea of the movement: I wanted make a guy run super fast to a wall/boulder
2. Animated horizon line first with line tool
3. Then animated dot (to a separate layer) going through scene and keeping in mind that further the dot is, slower it seems to go, (dot was just placeholder for head), I also kept in mind that the closer dot is to camera bigger it is.
4. Animated (to a seperate layer) that red  line  to help me to see 3d space better, this time keeping in mind if line "tail" comes close to a camera it looks bigger, originally I didn't plan it to stay, but it helped sell the movement so I kept it and added some stuff to make reason for it being there.
5. Animated boulder/wall. Key framed run and character crushing to a wall. Red line helped me to see 3d space when animating key poses to character.
6. Inbetweening and finishing touches.
Blue lines on the ground and boulder/wall are both animated on separate layer.

This is just how I did this one animation, next time if I do similar animation I might do things differently, I'm still learner myself haha ^^ But this is certain: animate complex stuff in smaller chunks so it doesn't feel overwhelming :3
Please ask if something was unclear, I like to help, but I can be bad at explaining :'D

One more thing: here's video explaining how you can get Flash for free and legally: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXvZUq… it's very old version of flash, but works fine for basic animation needs  ^^

Sneiks In reply to Lzyboost [2017-01-22 08:10:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I think I understood everything, but I'll ask you for some advice if I'll have problems when I'll try this out. Don't worry, I have explaining issues too.
Just wondering, how good is that version of flash, compared to Krita or OpenToonz and how different is it from the current newest version?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lzyboost In reply to Sneiks [2017-01-22 12:54:14 +0000 UTC]

Haha, good : D
I downloaded it yesterday and I've not had the chance to try it yet, I use newer version (Flash 8), so I guess I can tell if there are any differences, atleast making tests like this one ^^ I've tried Krita and I didn't like it that much, I remember it being kinda wonky, but that's just me : D I'm really liking Opentoonz, mostly because of how powerfull onion skin that program have. Right now I use flash for "sketching" my animations and Opentoonz for cleaning it up, I've not yet tried how well Open deals with sketching animation. I wish Open could someday be program I only use, since there are much more nice features that I'd like to use (like automatic inbetweens and effects) :3 It's open source so I believe it's only getting better and better ^^
