Gawd this one takes me back... This may officially be the oldest piece in the gallery. It was drawn for a Transformers website I used to be part of for the now defunct OTFCC 2004 coverage.There's still quite a bit about it that I like and quite a bit about it that I would do differently. But in the end, there's still something about it I like.

YAY ArmadaMegatron....if we pretend the cartton didnt exist lol, he's my fav megs, thats the figure i got when i was getting back into TF after so long away, loved how he stuck it to galvatron in worlds collide, this is a very snazzy piccy dude

The thing is, to me... Armada Megatron was the best Megatron design period. It was different, innovative, and you could tell just my looking at him he was in charge and a danger. He just oozed power. Energon Megatron was poorly named and was neat in nostalgia only and Cybertron Megatron just didn't cut it for me. (Unicron armor... Riiiiiight.) RiD Megatron looks like he's dressed as Batman, while I like Nerfatron too, his colors are gaudy, and G1 looks like one of those Scout Walkers from the Star Wars. G1 Galvatron was a giant barrel with a carrot stuck to his arm, and G2 Megatron, while in many ways a predacessor to Armada Megatron just lacked that "oomph" that Armada had.
Long story short, if I was asked to redesign Megatron for the next line... He's be based heavily on Armada Megatron.

i wanderd into a discount store the other day, and found a bunch of Rip-Offs, one of which was a mechanised Armada Megatron, he was black with a new head and a rotating mechanism in his somach so he could spin on the spot
I agree totally about Armada Megs, when different artists draw him he still comes across as a hardbot, rip something off him and he will just come at you harder, i always thought his tankmode was soo basic...but it works
RidMegatron was underused....that guy could really have been something to rule all megatrons
i kinda like the Galvatron look, he's always looked solid and a hardcase...but they ruin him when they try playing him down or bog him down in plot, but as far as G2 megs goes......he looks like i've just been sick on him....now Hearts of Steel Megatron, he looks damn awesome
