Description
This is the second step, after curing the polymer clay. This is where I paint it with a wash of Burnt Umber acrylics to make it look leathery.Don't look too closely, it's all messy and sloppy! In the next step, I will add touches of metallic paint and Rub-n-buff and possibly some PearlEx powdered pigments.
I really like the effect of using a little watch face for the dragon's eye.

Yes I do! I only have one or two available now in my Etsy shop (link below). I don't cover the entire journal cover anymore, such as in this example but I do have a tutorial that shows you how to do it here www.claylessons.com/tutorial/a…

Oh my goodness, I am totally in love with your journals!! All of your work seems to show a wealth of techniques but having a small obsession with journals in the first place I think they all are just brilliant! All of the little details are extremely successful in pulling you into the pieces.
I also really enjoyed seeing a bit of your process, I would love to see more in the future!

Thank you very much! I haven't created any journal covers lately but I have been toying around with an idea for another. I'll try to remember to post pics of the different stages along the way.
