Description
This is a tribute to a great cartoon series everybody knows, Recess. They don't make such fun, smart cartoons anymore. I miss those days...From left to right they are Vince, Spinelli, Mikey, TJ, Gretchen and Gus.
You'll probably know the reference picture this one is taken from (LINK ). Actually all I wanted was to draw them in my style, and I think (hope) I succeeded. It took me at least 6 hours to do it (one for each character). Hope you like it!

This was one of the most intelligent cartoons ever created. It was able to teach life lessons without coming across as preachy. Why hasn't Disney released Recess to DVD?

I always ask myself, DIsney is best known for animation, both in movies and television... so why is it that the televise stuff is so easily forgotten?

I guess it's partly because they produce so much and there are always new shows coming out. Plus, there are quite a few generations between mine (Im an early 90s kid) and the current one. Seems like quality isn't such an important criteria in terms of remembering certain shows better than others.

All epic, yet I am a bit curious because I have never watched, or heard of this show. I have no idea how they actually look like, the real characters of "Recess", but from the rest of the comments, you probably did a great job. ^^

Are you serious?? You have never ever watched Recess? It's one of my favorite childhood shows (I'm a 90s kid). I seriously recommend it not you!

After seeing some comments about the shows on the Disney channel, I couldn't agree more. The stuff they (and other networks) had during the 90's were THE "A" material. Now they throw in teen sitcoms, reality t.v. and cartoons that no longer says "we care about you and the quality we give", but rather, "we are at the bottom of the barrel and only giving shows that will help us barely keep afloat". I might understand if they fear some of the great shows they give might get stale, but it's no excuse to think the stuff they give now is just as good or better. Anyway, I'd like to comment on this and might I say it's fantastic!

Wow this pic is so cool! I really wish the dumb DA logo wasn't there messing it up but awesome nontheless! My wife and I love Recess! A few days ago we were watching the Recess Christmas movie and we just love Micky's HO HO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
