*nods*
This DOES look like a bit of classic sci-fi novel cover art.
And that is a good thing.

I'll take that as a huge compliment, as my primary influence is mostly
SF cover art from the 'golden age', ie the 1970's! Many thanks!

Awesome work Mark Cool scene Love all the concept in this scene. You've put a lot of time and effort into it and it is worth it

Thanks very much Jorge, glad you like it amigo!
Yeah, pre-visualising, constructing and putting the various elements together was quite time-consuming.
The nice thing about 3D models is of course that now that they're built, they can be modified to suit future
projects. Almost like saving params in a way!!

I agree. I currently am using NewTek lightwave, but I definitely need to give C4D another try.Β I have done some work in it, but not like you have. Your work is lightyears better than what I have done in C4D.Β

I tried to get to grips with LW a good few years ago, but found the interface too 'cryptic' - with too many hidden menus,
and so consequently gave up on it!!
However, after some further years of immersing myself in the complexities - and frustrations! - of the 3D fractal prog
Mandelbulb3D, C4D seems relatively straightforward by comparison! Considering that I started exploring C4D back
in August of this year, and am now achieving acceptable results, I reckon it's now the 3D prog of choice for me!

I agree that Lightwave is somewhat clunky, but it's UV Mapping interface works great with UV Headus.Β
Thank you for the input on C4D.Β

That's breathtakingly impressive. Wonderful modern CG which also evokes the sci-fi art o the 70's.

Cheers JR! I was very heavily into the artwork of the 'greats' back then, and
it doubtless shows in my current work - no bad thing IMHO!!
