Description
Due to upcoming "Superman - Man of Steel" reboot i thought i draw my own take on Superman's costume. As much as i understand how Superman's classic look is iconic, it really has to go, let's face the fact's...red underwear over blue tight's is just far to silly, i really liked the origin of it in Superman-Birthright, where he based it's design on some Kryptonian warrior's uniform...but he ended up with the regular Superman costume and that kinda ended-up being silly as well.As for the movie, i would like the costume to be similiar to the red n blue classic wear, but make it more "alien" lookin, maybe even make it something Jor-El left for him in the fortress of solitude idk....Just dont make it Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh "fabulous" skin-tight uniform.

DANG that's MUCh better than what he looks like NOW! There's WAY too much blue in the new costume, and this one at least has a belt or some sort of V on his stomach area! And the golden armor bits, FANTASTIC. Despite the fact that it's maybe a bit too shiny and the blue is more dark purple now, it makes superman look royal, and adds to what may be a design influenced by Krypton's common ware, which seems more alien then the classic blue jumpsuit we're all used to!

I really enjoy this! It's very nicely done! * Sidenote: the red trunks over the blue was something wrestlers did and it broke up all the blue.

Nice techno-twist.
Just for a little history, the whole "underwear on the outside" idea came from the kind of costume worn by circus strongmen. The cape was then added for effect. His facial features resembled popular movie stars of the 30's, and even the name Clark Kent was based off Clark Gable and Kent Taylor. The fact that a costume from the 1930's circus survived this long is an achievement in and of itself.

I get all that...but nowadays, original Superman costume looks absolutely ridiculous outside of the comics/cartoons.

This looks like a good Elseworlds design. Perhaps they could make a story in where Superman became a more government based, soldier type. Kind of like Captain America, but more Lawful Neutral. Or an Elseworlds where Superman was raised by Zod, and Krypton could've lasted longer.

he looks darker and more menacing. Kind of reminds me of Justice Lord Superman. The golden gauntlets and leg patterns were a nice touch.

Actually when you think about it, the underwear over the spandex kinda makes sense. What's the male version of camel toe?

It reminds me of a story in which Stan Lee created Superman (and most of the other big name DC heroes.)

It's cool illustration, but They would never use a costume like that for one being that it resembles The Eradicator too much. He was created out of pure energy from an artifact superman found that when born out of the sun, he acted in the mindset of an absolute krytonian warlord who expects the people of metroplis of him to be their superior.
Sorry but this will not work in the reboot.

No underwear over pants? That's just pants on head retarded, mang.
Also, whilst that is a cool design, it looks too evil to be his standard good uniform.

This...scares me. A lot. This is like Superman's evil double, not Superman.
Just saying, since the angry look and red eyes. IT makes him more of a villian then hero. Plus he may be the most powerful, but he is a good guy and knows all about right from wrong, so he doesn't go against people.

I agree, Superman should never look scary for very long. Its okay to get upset for a short time but it shouldn't be his default look. The outfit is nice, I would use a lighter color blue and if you are going to use his red eyed look there should be a reason given. The thought that he might be looking at me right now is not pleasant.
