"Starscream: Conquest Is Made"Prints available!
Starscream , the power-hungry Decepticon second-in-command, was destroyed in The Transformers: The Movie after an unsuccessful coup. But he later returned as a ghost (yes, a robot ghost ) who could possess other Transformers.
Eventually the cartoon ended, but the toys continued to be made, and a new toy was sold as Starscream in the Machine Wars line. However, it was dark and massive and expressionless, everything Starscream wasn't. So I had personally disregarded the toy... until this idea struck me.

Thanks to you, Starscream finally ends up winning. The drawing of Starscream holding Galvatrons severed particle cannon prooves. Thanks to you Starscream is vistorious, but of course it takes a very long time but who cares. Not to many people realize this.

Yep, he wins... for a while. But living in a corpse is a rough existence, and I have some story ideas about him using the Kronosphere to jump back to a point between seasons 2 and 3 to try to prevent his own death. This triggers G2/MW, and Starscream's spark ultimately ends up "unstuck in time," allowing for his appearance millions of years earlier in BW.

In the old cartoon, sometimes TF bodies turned to greys when they died. So I'm suggesting that Machine Wars Starscream is actually some fallen warrior's body possessed by Starscream's ghost.

Heh, speaking of what Starscream would do, I actually have a loose plot in my head that begins with his possession of this new body and results in G2, MW, Alternators, and beyond. I'll never actually write or draw the whole story, but I find it fun to play with in quiet moments.

You should totally write it. We need a lot more Transformer books on the shelves ~ just look at all of the Star Trek novels out there poking fun at us!! Hundreds of the things! Meanwhile Transformers stories stay locked up in people's heads. arrrg!
(P.S. Don't worry, I'm totally putting my money where my mouth is and I'm a few thousand pages into a very rough draft as we speak...)

someone really should try to put more effort in to the literary part of transformers. kids reading would increase like tenfold. the most weve gotten are the novels that are really just to extend interest in the war/fall of cybertron games.

That is what I am hoping to do. I've spent the past year taking writing classes with Comics Experience, really good stuff there! I realized that I needed to learn a lot more technique before I actually attempted to get published.

Eh, I'm not much of a writer. I know I don't have the drive to put the necessary work into that whole story. I'm pretty content just using it for vignette-inspiration from time to time (I actually had an Alternators pic pop into my head the other day that relates to that "continuity"). Good luck on your effort!

Probably Skyquake . He's the only other character who has shared that toy, so if it isn't him, it's someone totally made-up. (I suppose as the artist I could just declare an answer, but a little ambiguity never hurt nobody.)

I like this idea but in the last G-1 season Unicron gave Starscream a new body! But oh the look on his face here. So Starscream!

Glad you like it! As for Starscream's new body, considering that the last thing we saw of him was him tumbling out-of-control through space with Galvatron in hot pursuit, and he never showed up in the G1 'toon again, the idea that he was quickly re-killed is a fairly probable one. Plus there's the Beast Wars episode where he reappeared as a ghost on prehistoric Earth, which is chronologically dicey because of the time-travel thing, but still.
In my personal storyline where he takes on his Machine Wars body, he actually does get involved in time-travel shenanigans that eventually deposit him bodiless in the Beast Wars, but not before some other misadventures elsewhere in the timestream...

Yes, I would say that would be a feasible conclusion. Never saw beastwars but not surprised that Starscream is up to no good even as a ghost! LOL I love the idea of time travel and alternate universes. I have been working forever on an alternate universe story with Starscream and Sunstorm but I keep on changing it. Too indecisive. I love the story but I have to really get on the ball with it and at least finish the first part.

wow, awesome! at first i thought the idea of a robot-ghost was weird, but i got used to it and now i actually like it. after all, transformers have sparks that fairly well could turn into ghosts, i think.

Thank you! And yeah, in the Beast Wars cartoon, Starscream's ghost actually did show up as a disembodied spark. I've got my own thoughts on how he could've gotten to prehistoric Earth, but... well, maybe that'll be another drawing someday.

Thank you! Though I'm pretty sure I made up the whole Starscream-stealing-Skyquake's-body thing when I drew this. I know his Machine Wars tech-spec bio doesn't say anything like that. But if that idea had existed somewhere else first, I'm at least happy to know I'm plugged into the zeitgeist.
