Stealth was only just being developed in the mid 80s the F-117 (the first Stealth fighter) didn't enter service until 1989. The B2 followed shortly after. Thus, there weren't any stealth aircraft in service in the mid 80s.

There weren't any except the SR-71 Blackbird, a spy plane. The F-117 and B2 were still in development, and the F-22 hadn't even been thought of yet. Stealth technology was still being tested at that time.
