This is pretty much my problem with the new Clone Wars show (outside of the weak animation).We know Anakin turns out to be a bad bad dude, and eventually he’ll massacre the Jedi. So it’s impossible to accept him as the hero of his own show. At least with the original Clone Wars (sooo good!) and in the new trilogy (sooo meh!), we didn’t know EXACTLY how he would end up being Vader.

Tis true. But, so far there have been hints of fun stuff, like torture, totalitarian sympathies, executions, and overly patriotic clones.

Clone Wars IS way under-rated though, mostly because a lot of people don't watch it. It should've come out before the 3rd film. It does a way BETTER job of showcasing Anakin's personality than the films did and makes the character seem more believable in a lot of ways. He's the hero, certainly, but we get to see a lot of sides of him that hint that he has the potential to fall in him, rather than rubbing it in our faces like the films did. He'll force choke a baddie to make him reveal where Ahsoka's being held captive, biiiig no-no that whole torture thing among the goody two-shoes jedi. We see character development, we see sensible motivation, I personally recommend the series to anyone that likes Star Wars.

Actually, and I don't man to cause a debate, but the Clone Wars is one of the most popular shows for boys 7-12 years old.

I'm not really all that fussed. I mean, if Ahsoka doesn't die at the end of the new Clone Wars series and there isn't another to follow, I'm going to be pretty confused.

huh...in episode 3, i think i saw Ahsoka being killed...of course, it took place AFTER the clone wars so, Ahsoka was probably an adult...but i think she was the one riding the speeder bike, you could just barely make out her togruta horn thingies and boots...poor Snips.

There's a deleted scene from Revenge of the Sith and it shows Grievous killing her, I believe. I haven't seen it in a while, so I might be wrong.

I thought about that, but it was just kinda liek ZOH MY GAUZE kinda thing, ya know? I thought it looked a lot like Ahsoka but you could be right, it's more than likely Shaak Ti.

THANK YOU! In that episode where he was saving the cube-crystal thing that had all the names of force sensitive children, I just kept laughing at the irony of it all.
I was like, "Wow, he shouldn't be let NEAR those kids..."

I've been watching this show recently, and I have the exact same problem with it. He's gonna be a traitor later! Not to mention the Clones will be too. How can I root for them and be happy about it?

Natalie Portman had an interesting thing to say about it... It was probably scripted, but when they were being interviewed about the clone wars (at this point we still didn't know how Anakin came to be Darth Vader) she said something along the lines of:
"Evil isn't necessarily pure evil, it can sometimes spur from wanting to do good" in this case, Anakin fucking hated politics. Thought they took too long. So he joined in on a mass conspiracy to kill a bunch of people and take over the universe.
Which brings me to another quote, this one by George Bush:

Agreed. I was hoping that the creative staff would start showing the Republic sliding towards a dictatorship and the Confederacy being the building blocks of the Rebellion.
In the new season coming up, I hope they bring in Grand Moff Tarkin to show the Republic losing its heart and maybe NubNub (the alien who flew the Millenium Fulcan with Lando) on the Confederacy to show how the sides are shifting.
But knowing Lucas, I doubt it.

I don't like Anakin as a role-model goody-goody big brother. I like him the way he is in the old clone wars cartoon: a bad-ass rebel you plays by his own rules, thinks he's better than everyone, and has no respect for authority. Oyez.
