This is pretty much my problem with the new Clone Wars show (outside of the weak animation).We know Anakin turns out to be a bad bad dude, and eventually he’ll massacre the Jedi. So it’s impossible to accept him as the hero of his own show. At least with the original Clone Wars (sooo good!) and in the new trilogy (sooo meh!), we didn’t know EXACTLY how he would end up being Vader.

We kind of know how Anakin Skywalker turned to Vader in Revenge of The Sith,but it has to take you a whole bunch of other crap to fully analyze the character(The novels,the original Clone Wars and Episodes I and II)
Personally the writing of Star Wars I always have some sort of hatred upon because not only do plotholes exist one million times in each Episode,but because I feel that the characters,especially Vader before Vader was never developed correctly...
Episodes 1-3 were a good idea,but I should have stuck to developing the main chracter perfectly(Skip the love scenes with his former wife)and we don't have to deal with more Star Wars Movies again.

For me, my favorite bit is actually the comedic moments the battle droids put up despite being supposed to be mindless killing machines.
As for Anakin turning to the dark side, All I can say is that his padawan didn't necessarily have to die DURING the Jedi massacre but can very well be before the massacre during the latter part of the clone war. If she did die before the massacre (perhaps due to General Grievous of Count Dooku), her death may play a role for him turning to Darth Vader (we all know how badly he reacted to his mother's death). Of course, I'm no Starwars junkie so I'm not the most well-informed here. Feel free to correct (not flame) me.

i actually love the idea and direction they're going in the Star Wars saga when it comes to Anakin. Aside from a few cool fights, flips, and bad acting in the prequels, we never really saw him in action as The Chosen One or Hero. Everyone across Star Wars brings up the fact Anakin is the best jedi, such a vast war hero, and this conflicted person. since we already know he's a deranged killer and evil creature in the long run, i would love to see what kind of hero he was. what did he do exactly in the clone wars? how does a young adult and teenager deal with such a heavy burden as a Hero, Champion, and Avatar no one really likes?
so i gave the movie a shot. it sucked, but keep at it Lucas! lol

I gotta agree. It's hard to keep accepting stories where Anakin Skywalker is the hero when I already know he's going to turn evil and will kill the Jedi off himself.

oh god you're so lucky. For a TV show, I don't mind the animation style at all, and in 22 minute bites the show actually works on some levels. But the movie, was 4 22 minute eps put together. This cause it to feel blocky and poorly paced. The 3rd act revolves around Padme´ dealing with a new Hutt character that's named Ziro. Ziro is Jabba's uncle (yes UNCLE), but sounds like a cross between Truman Capote and Cruella Deville. To top it off, he's wearing a head dress with feathers and has body paint along his side to make him look like a caterpillar (it's very Alice in Wonderland). Basically it's a gay hutt. It's annoying, the references go way over kids heads, and ruins the idea of he gangster hutt everyone knows.

Hutts, as a species, are hermaphrodites, having both male and female sex organs, so there's no such thing as a gay Hutt. Hutts simply choose which gender they feel they most closely identify with. So Jabba, like all Hutts, is both male and female, but his personality is male. Ziro, on the other hand, has a female personality. The problem is just a language problem. Non-Hutts tend to use masculine words (he, him, uncle, etc.) to describe ALL Hutts, even the ones that identify themselves as female personalities. And Ziro is still a gangster, just a "female" gangster. Make her a female human, and she would fit right in in American Prohibition Era (1920's & 30's). When you know what s/he is really an homage to, s/he's not that bad. *However* since the movie does seem to be aimed more at kids than adult SW fans, maybe they *should* have done something else. That's a lot of explanation for ONE character.
As for Clone Wars in general, I'm kinda on the fence. I liked the mini-sode series on Cartoon Network, but I liked the movie too, and I think I'll like the new show, too. BUT, since Anakin was already the star of the mini-sode series, I would have prefered to see the movie and the new show be from the points-of-view of the clone troopers and Republic Commandos. Karen Travis's RC books are awesome, and I would love to see a movie/show about clones that just don't blindly follow orders.
Anyway, that's just my take on things.

actually they're not born with any sex organs. Had you read Clone Wars, you'd know that Hutts are asexual and reproduce by replication like a sponge. They simply grow another hutt out of them. Therefore your explination is both valid and invalid. As technically it's impossible for an asexual species to be gay...
It was a clear impression of Truman capote who was a well known homosexual socialite. The character did NOT need to have that kind of flair as the references were WASTED on the kids the film was aimed at. No Hutt in the HISTORY of Hutts have ever acted like that. It was a ruined character, that was utterly pointless. If you wanted to make the character intimidating like every other Hutt in any Star Wars media ever has been, then make him more like Capone than Capote. Give him that Chicago 1930's ganster style instead of some gay simpering whimpering douchey character.
I HATED Ziro the Hutt and i was mbarased by it it! I'm a huge Star Wars fan, they don't come much bigger than me, but there was no viable excuse for that.
George Lucas is a dolt. He's admitted that this show isn't canon like the movies, but that Star Wars The Force Unleashed is, which has an amazing story, character and ties in both trilogies brilliantly. The Force Unleashed should have been the movie or TV series and The Clone Wars should have been the game!

They had that. A little, anyway. "Splinter of the Mind's Eye." Never read it, but I know most of the plot.
I'm talking about, like, further adventures, maybe for other groups of characters. The Expanded Universe has covered so much, they've left no room for more. I'm still pissed that they introduced the Yuuzhan Vong. Not only did that story arc introduce "gothiness" to Star Wars, but it also lead to the deaths of Chewie, Anakin AND Jacen Solo [Not to mention Jacen becoming a Sith Lord], and Mara Jade!!

I agree completely about the animation in the traliers putting me off, not to mention that I can't look at him as a good guy knowing he will turn around and murder random younglings and supposed friends in a wierd attempt to say his girlfriend's life.....what the hell? Love the comic, think the dialoge is SPOT on! lol
