The G1 Devastator (you know.. .the real one heh) I sketched out as part of a Livestream broadcast of myself drawing. While drawing, lightning knocked out my power and I lost all my work (save often kids!). So I gave up ont hat, and drew an Optimus instead for the Livestream (which I'll posted a link to on the main page!). I didn't feel like redrawing Dev so I was going to think of something else for the strip... but I then remembered- Livestream saves all your broadcasts! So I went to the devastator video, screencapped the part when I had sketched Devastator, and inked over the lowres screen cap. Phew!

Hah! Now THIS is funny. And the thing is, it's an obvious joke without being too obvious and it's actually smart about it as well.
I have to admit, aside from that one brief shot/angle (I think you all know the one and if you don't, it's what the pic is about) I loved the new Devastator design. His function however....... could have been better.

One of my favorites was when I accidentally saved over the original with a cropped version. >.< Luckily, I have a backup of every drawing I've done... well... up until 2007 anyway. I need to update my backups. >.>

Oh yeah heh, forgot to mention that Bayformer Devastator(the boring one!) has two yellow legs (instead of one yellow one green), because I used and old piece of concept art for reference. It's basically and earlier version of this piece:

"Boring"? G1 Devs never Swallowed an autobot alive! Or Ripped the Pyramids open!

Whoa, excuse me? G1 Devastator ripped a giant metal gate with his bare hands while taking direct cannon shots to the face then taking on the Dinobots soon afterwards in the 1986 animated movie, and in the IDW comics, he ripped Superion apart, manhandled Monstructor(who nearly tore Omega Supreme apart), pinned Menasor to the ground, and freaking took on 3 COMBINERS AT ONCE(INCLUDING A COMBINED OPTIMUS, and that's what it took to bring him down).Β
Baystator? Sure, he swallowed an autobot(one of the stupid twins), BUT did he succeed? NO. Instead, said autobot busts out, scarring his face in the process, then along with his twin brother inflicts countless damages to him(getting damage by the twins equals automatic fail). Then after that, he gets blown up by a freaking railgun.
So tell me this, which isΒ more impressive to you?Β Β

LOL It was weird in the movie seeing Devastator's balls. As if we really needed the hint that he was a guy. Both of them are freakin' awesome, but this picture is still funny and makes a very legitimate point.
