Okay, it's dooone...! *0*? No, it's not. _^_ It's only half of what I wanted to say. T_T I didn't even get to the basic info and tips!! D: Please wait a little while longer for them...! T_T
Anyway... I think I won't finish it so soon, so I just wanted to show you what I've got. <3;; I hope this part alone will be usefull too...
If you want to start painting right away - just one more tip from me: Start with the pencil sketch, then do colours, and leave the lineart for the end! >w< Of course you don't have to, but it's much easier this way and it looks better at the end. <3

Ah, sorry. It's called "Karmański", but I think it's only sold in my country... and anyway, it went out of production a few years ago, so now you can only get a similar brand from Russia. I don't know the brand's name though - we call them russian watercolours. xD' It's based on honey and gum arabic, if I'm not mistaken...

I love this tutorial! I happened to find it, and I just started with watercolors so these techniques are really handy.

I use a lot of different papers but my favourite by far (because it looks perfectly after scanning) is Canson Montval Torchon 270 g/m2: Snowy surface.
The paper size doesn't really matter (apart from the fact what size of a painting you want to draw), but in some cases the paper near the binding (when it's glue) is a little hard to draw on. So sometimes it's better to get a bigger one and cut it into smaller pieces.
I've heard that the best paper is the one that has cotton in it and is sold in huge sheets (150x70cm), but I haven't really tried that one yet, since it's very expensive and probably not suitable for manga works. : O

I started taking a watercolor class, but it was way too slow and i wasn't learning anything new D:
the most i learned was the effect from salt but i could easily have learned that from DA as well D:

Oh, it's an old Polish brand called Karmański , but they went out of production once... Many people say that their quality is very similar to that of White Nights .

I usually use white and some strong orange colour. Then I add English Rose (or whatever the name in English O.o;; ) to make the shades.

I searched for Watercolor tutorials on DA and find sooo much, but this was the first which really helped a lot! Thank you! You show us the method how to draw and not just an artwork step by step. (Which is helpful for intermediates, but not for beginners like me. ^^)

It's just different. Water colours in cubes are good because you can choose the amount of water you want to apply. In tubes you have some amount already implied. So if the paint is thick - it doesn't matter, but if it's watery, then you can't get enough pigment sometimes... .3. But I think your water colours mush be properly thick and all. ^^ So don't worry about it and just paint~! <33

Zarówno kredkami akwarelowymi jak i samymi akwarelami dałoby się prawdopodobnie malować/rysować w obu technikach... xD'
Technika sucha to kiedy bierzesz na pędzel mało wody i stosunkowo dużo farby. Farba nie rozlewa się po kartce; - precyzyjnie nakładasz ją pędzlem tylko tam, gdzie chcesz. Panujesz nad nią i powstałe rezultaty nie powinny być dla ciebie zbyt zaskakujące. .3.
Za to technika mokra to trochę farby + DUŻO wody. Farba z wodą rozlewa się po kartce. Czasem ją zalewa. O ile po używaniu techniki suchej kartka powinna być momentalnie wysuszona, o tyle przy mokrej - mogą powstać małe "jeziorka" wody na kartce i praca musi często schnąć godzinę, a nawet więcej.
Widziałam kiedyś koleżankę robiącą pracę w technice mokrej - kręciła arkuszem na wszystkie strony, a farba płynęła po kartce wraz z grawitacją. xD Czasem zbierała nadmiar wody chusteczką. Resztę pozostawiła do wyschnięcia i oczywiście pojawiły się potem tzw. "grzyby", czyli w technice akwarelowej - takie jakby "zasysy", po których widać, ze farba tam schła. xD' Nie umiem tego dobrze opisać, trzebaby to zobaczyć na żywo. xD Niektórzy uważają je za BARDZO artystyczne. (naprawdę.) Praca wykonana techniką mokrą na ogół zaskakuje w jakimś stopniu twórcę. Nauczyciele zawsze mówią: "Pozwólcie farbie robić co chce, nie przejmujcie się błędami, zobaczycie, że potem efekt może okazać się ciekawy!"...
Ogólnie przy rysunku mangowym technikę mokrą można stosować do zrobienia tła, żeby było ładnie zblurowane, rozmyte. Postać lepiej wykonać techniką suchą, chyba że chcesz z tego zrobić "dzieło sztuki". ; D (Czytaj: Nic nie będzie widać, bo wszystko się zleje.)
Ale nawet jeśli chcesz używać techniki mokrej, to stosuj lepiej rozsądne ilości wody. To z przelewaniem wody po kartce to był przykład ekstremalny - kartka miała wielkość 50 x 70 i koleżance zależało na szybkim efekcie, dlatego tak postą-piła. Można się tym bawić, ale... no, osobiście polecam technikę suchą. ^^v Oj, znów się rozpisałam... ~~;;; Przepraszam. T_T'

Ale jeśli chcesz takie, których ja używam do techniki suchej, to polecam akwarele w sztabkach na bazie miodu i gumy arabskiej. '3' Osobiście używam Karmańskiego, ale te się kończą (chyba... >_> )... Słyszałam od innych, że dobre są jakieś rosyjskie, tudzież jakieś Petersburgi. Ale nie próbowałam, więc musiałabym kupić po jednej chociaż i sprawdzić. Od jakiegoś czasu nęcą mnie akwarele polskie "Renesans", też na bazie miodu. '3' Ale nie słyszałam o nich żadnej opinii na razie, więc nie mogę powiedzieć, czy są dobre czy nie... .3.
Przepraszam za skróconą odpiowiedź, w dodatku późną pewnie, ale za rzadko sprawdzam Message Center, a teraz jest już za późno dla mnie, żeby normalnie funkcjonować... xD'''
