Description Tutorial requested by ~Enblaze (Zooky), many months ago... I finally got it done. I would have had it done ages ago but the computer died.

Any advice for those of us without an art tablet? I'm trying to start shading and highlighting my pieces with soft shade lines

Would it be possible to do without the tablet?

Possible yes, it might not have the same effect and you'd probably have to use gradients instead of painting using the pressure sensitivity of the tablet.

This is really helpful! But I was wondering how do you ink your pieces? Using a path tool, a 1px brush? The line art just seems so clean!

Thank you for your comment.

For inking I usually use the path tool with a 1.5px brush (after shrinking 1px is a tad too fine, I think). This particular picture though, was partly done with paths and partly drawn with the Circle (3) brush, but I scaled the brush to 50% size to make it thinner.
