Offf course, how else was Jessi going to react? If you consider it it would indeed be a huge medical breakthrough even if it's a single case scenario.I mentioned this before while uploading half-finished versions of this page to twitter but I really liked how Charlie came out in the third panel.

Actually, she does have a point
Outside of the change in the area of privateness, a virus, due to how injects it's DNA, could in theory (emphasis on the "in theory") replace the natural DNA of an infected person, specifically the Sex chromosones. It is, of course, only in theory

Which is why it'd be so exciting for any type of medic if they discovered such a condition, Jessi isn't by any means overreacting.

Yeah, I mean, not trying to get to political here, but whatever caused this scenario to unfold is, for most intents and purposes, a cure to the problems that lie in transgenderism. If you can reverse engineer the virus and create a new male one, congrats, you now shrink the cost of the process of transition. Not only that, but it would refute the only scientific problem I, personally, have with transgenderism to begin with, the DNA.
Well, there is also the issue (that I will not go into) that comes with being able to certain thinhs with the fact of being able to convert both ways. Lets hope that you manage to avoid that brigde before it need to be dealt with.
On a serious note though, I have to give you some credit, considering the virus part of this being theoretically possible, it does have a nice way to wrap up the "why" part of the story. Makes it much easier to enjoy!

I do want to try and up the story in a relatively realistical scenario, unfortunately a single person being the carrier of a strange disease or immunity would mean they'd have to be extremely careful about exposure to the public. Think about the world suddenly being informed that a single person is immortal, not only they'd either be locked up or under permanent scrutiny, they'd also face enraged people wanting to receive that immortality and there'd also be extremists who wouldn't doubt in trying to kill that person. It really is a very delicate situation.
I do plan on going further on the 'why' later on, but it's not something that'll absorve all the focus of the story, what I mainly want to do with it is how both Charlie and Valentina deal with Charlie's transformation.
