Ergh...my eyes are about to fall out of my head, and this piece isn't quite finished, but I thought I'd put it up anyway. I love commission work. Really I do. Although, I suspect I'm developing a severe disliking of painting sunken ships.....or ships of any kind for that matter.Related content

Have I told you lately how talented I think you are? This is most awesome. Again, I love the colors, the webbed fingers are great, and the tail is nifty, (and the spoon and glasses are a cute touch). You are so creative, I love it.

Thankya. I love mermaids, and I'm a huge fan of sunken cities, but some days, I think I'm going to hunt down the next person that even mentions 'ship' and 'sunken' in the same sentence. Ah well, all to the better if I can get over that little hump. I just don't get why no one ever commissions something like "I want a badass chick with a big friggin' sword. Can ya do that?" *sigh* Ah well, at least I still get some free time to play.

Wow! Great piece and great detail work!! Her fishnet top with the spoon, glasses, etc tied on is unique. I love the little dragon seahorse; I've only recently discovered that type after visiting the Tampa aquarium a year ago. Her fingerwebbing is done up great, too...kudos to the way you have the membranes working against the water...a rarely seen detail in fishy fingers! I'm sure the commissioner will be quite pleased with this gilled beauty!

Thank you kindly. I was actually hoping to do a weedy sea dragon for this piece, instead of a leafy, since the colours on a weedy sea dragon are incredibly vibrant, but the client had her heart set on the latter, so that's what she got. I'm glad it turned out well.
I sometimes get lost in the details (like fishnetting), only to step back and see that I've forgotten to put in the background. Glad this piece caught your eye.

The hands look awesome! The webbing is spot on! The gills are a great detail and wonderful job on the anatomy. The seahorse is perfect too. I love that species of them. Can't help but giggle at the glasses she's 'wearing'. Done or not, this is a great piece.
