The website is run by someone whose goal is to disprove all the 2012 theories out there using the most valid evidence possible. (see article: "2012- Why It Shouldn't Be Feared) After researching for over a year and reading his newsletter, I've come to realize that 2012 has become a HUGE cash cow.
It's become a tool to instill fear in the general public, and I'm really sick of all this apocalypse crap. I tend to be a realist. Of course, I do believe that unfortunate events will occur leading up to and on that day, but it's due to the course that humans have decided to take as a result of global warming, wars, etc. Everything about galactic alignment/pole shifting/planet X is pretty much all fake, and numerology and Nostradamus are invalid arguments.
My prediction for 2012? People are going to purchase a surplus of food/water, they're going to huddle in a room with their families until the time comes on that date, and after 11:11 passes, we'll SEE THE BIG ASTEROID WHICH WON'T HIT US, and then... nothing. I think it's going to be the start of a new revolution, to be totally honest.
Something we NEED. And something big may happen... but it won't be the end of the physical world or an apocalypse. Don't worry.

I find it so hard to believe that the ancient Mayans were such an "advanced" civilization and so "accurate" with their predictions YET they weren't able to foresee their own demise. I call shenanigans! People think the world will end because the Mayan calendar ends on 12/21 of 2012. Ok. Guess what? My calendar ends on 12/31 of this year. I guess that means we're screwed. Has it ever occured to anybody that the reason the Mayan calendar ends that year is because...
A. There was no more room to add anymore dates to the calendar.
B. The guy who made the calendar got sick and tired of adding dates.
As far as I'm concerned, this is nothing more than another piece of bullshit fabricated by the government controlled media to keep us in a state of fear and thus keeping us in line. That's the great thing about not being religious at all. You get to see reality. My dad believes the Mayans and he believes that the world will end in 2012. I absolutely cannot wait to laugh and rub it in his face when nothing happens.

that mayan calendar is very complex, it can be synchronized and interlocked,u change combinations giving rise to further and more extensive cycles. it wasnt made in that way u are saying (from the day 1 to the end), its much more complex than that, it was made in a mathematic way from the inside to outside. and wanst only one guy making it as u can imagine. the last day of that calendar corresponds to the 21st december 2012 but it doesnt mean that is the end of the world, it just means that its the end of this cycle and the begining of a new one.

That's what I've been saying. It's the beginning of "a new age". It's just like any calendar. Once it ends, you start a new one. Hell! Many scholars and descendants of the Mayans say that that date would have been a day of joy and celebration for the ancient Mayans. It would have been like one hell of a New Year's Eve party. But sadly we turned it into a doomsday thing.

Good stamp. Tbh, I don't really care about the whole 2012 thing. If the world ends, it ends. Until then, we should just forget about the fact that the world will someday come to an end and live our lives as best we can.

My friend actually broke down in tears after I explained why the whole 2012 thing was bogus, she was so relieved and had really been convinced the world was going to end.
She's honestly an intelligent person, but this crap is so prevalent that it's really no wonder that believing it is easy to do.
But yeah, 2012 will be my first year voting in a presidential election and my first year that I can legally buy alcohol. I plan on voting drunk, that's the most dangerous thing I can predict.

Worrying what shit to buy people for Christmas cause I was to lazy to buy stuff before hand.
I'll look at the clock and it will read 11:12

and while people cowar in fear, I'll be laughing my head off to movies and what not.
If you add it all up, Nothing really will happen except possibly a little distubance in the magnetic fields if that. We all just might feel all nauseated for a little bit but that is probably it...

Once nothing happens, people are just going to say something got fucked up and it is actually 2013. Then nothing'll happen and it will become 2014 suddenly, etc., etc.

Yeah, 2012 is BS. I think that the doomsday theorists work in 6-year blocks:
2000 - Big fear about the millenium bug, what happened? Nothing.
2006 - 6-6-06. Oooohh, 666, number of the devil. Again, nothing happened except the release of a crappy "Omen" remake.
2012 - We're all gonna die? Bullshit. Some anti-climactic event will occur and we'll all just move on and celebrate the holidays.
What's gonna happen in 2018? I'll be 28, and I'll be laughing at those doomsday dodos harder than ever before. Their insane stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
