I was thinking I wanted something extra to add to the "Demon" origin, so a whisp of black smoke/energy or whatever you want to call it, surrounding the skull almost like a flame or hair, helped.

It's almost like it would work all over, as an aura. It's a cool touch, definitely.

A lot of the backgrounds for these were done quite quickly, because I was really only paid for the "character", so I used some custom brushes made by other artist, and my own custom brushes to produce some textures and whisps to make it look like there was "more to the background than there really was". The clouds were a brush I got from some artists set, forget who or where.

thats cool, i like what youve done with it. I dont really have a lot of experience with digital painting right now, but i hope to get better. I actually want to be a concept artist/ illustrator

I'll stress that if you're looking to get into concept art.. make sure you understand programs like Photoshop, Painter, Wacom tablets and even some 3D applications. It's pretty much essential, if you don't know how to use them you'll be at a disadvantage and you'll have to learn them even if you do land a job.. eventually.

i know photoshop (still getting used to painting with it) i hope to get painter soon, and i have a small wacom that im practicing with. i uploaded a few digital peices, and it would help if i could get some feedback on them because im very new at it.

I dont have the money now for painter or any 3d applications, so photoshop is my only choice

I never play any CCG or online CG's but.. because I was working on this one and it's a free online based game I started playing it. Just to understand how the game works and to see how the card art was put to use. It was actually addicting for a while, but I had to stop and get back to work lol

It's kind of a cross between strategy and slot machines at Atlantic City lol
