I like the more original take on this monster. Most people on deviantart just take a still from a movie and copy it exactly.

Looks like a really f**ked up giant chameleon. To me, The Thing stands out as one of the greatest monsters of the horror genre. Well done, Mike!

Seeing as how chameleons and geckos (use camouflage to hide) which are reflected a bit in the body structure.. I think that's a great compliment and only makes more sense and adds something the viewer can relate to.

This one does not appear in the prequel, it's a completely original piece done by this artist. The creatures in the prequel are pretty freaky, though, especially the last one. I'd love to see it and Blair go at it in a fight.

Thanks. Yea I've only seen the Carpenter version too but I'm sure it would be and even after the prequel..will still be my favorite. The sequel takes place at the Norwegian Camp where they originally found the alien and the ship. Trailers are all around and on TV now too.

Yeah, intresting. Werent al lthe papers and stuff from the Norwegian camp in Norwegian? I notice in the trailer that everyones speaking english? I assume its because otherwise it would be all in subbies! xD

Yea.. I don't mind subtitles but if you're not a quick reader it's hard to focus on the movie and in the case of a thriller where a monster is jumping out quickly you could easily miss something. I like how they handled subtitles transitioning to english in The 13TH Warrior. As he learns the language of the vikings, you start to hear them speaking English after a while of some subtitles (as he hears it in his ears and understands it..though they are still speaking their own language).
