I recently drew a piece that included bird wings and I was working under the impression that the different flight feathers (i.e. secondaries & second. coverts, primaries & prime. coverts, alula, scrapulars, and marginal coverts) varied in shape and size; is this incorrect? Β I'm asking because you provide only one example of a flight feather and I've always thought that secondaries and marginals were blunter than the primaries, and the marginals were smaller and more rounded, rather than all flight feathers following a general rule. Β I don't want my drawings to be inaccurate so I'm just trying to figure out wings. Β I'm still learning them right now. Β ^^"

Just in case you don't get a reply, I'll have a go hi~
I believe what you're saying is correct. I think for the sake of quickness and simplicity, this artist has just copypasted feathers. It's very hard to imagine every feather on a bird's wing is the same length and shape, with the plumage and down being different to the wing after all, and I know when drawing it that the primaries are much longer and sharper than secondaries. It's probably to do with each feather group's different role

This picture shows the primaries and secondaries very well, and there is a clear difference in the shape of the tips. I suggest looking up a few images of different types of bird and trying to see for yourself what you are saying is accurate, as I am not the best at observing
c: good luck with your drawings~

Thank you for explaining!
My idea was basically taught to paint bird wings.
The part of anatomy was actually copied and pasted, but I studied a little wing, and basically follow some orders placing feathers, studied in a high school biology textbook, if something is really wrong, if you want some correction, I can fix . Thank you.
