STORY:

Within the first few month of Scars reign the lionesses of the pride came to a quick realization that the cubs of the pride were no longer safe, especially the males since one day Scar would look at them as competition. The pridelands had progressed from the brutal tactics that lions took when taking over a pride however. Where the new male would usually kill all the cubs that weren’t his, they trusted Scar enough not to do this, and Scar didn’t. He would ignore the cubs only focusing on himself, but not harming any of them. However, Sarabi was the first to notice his dislike towards the male cubs of the pride so she naturally worried about them more. She knew one day Scar would see them as a threat and felt it was important to take them out of the pridelands as soon as possible. She held a secretive meeting with the lionesses right under Scars nose about what to do about this situation but everyone was stumped. Scar was strict and his hyenas were fierce. They were too scared to try and leave theirselves with the cubs because who knew If scar would backlash the second he realized lionesses had gone missing, not to mention none of the pride sisters wanted to leave one another, they were all in this together. With heavy hearts the pride sisters decided they would have to say goodbye to Tojo and Chumvi in order to insure their safety but doing this would take some planning.

While Scar continued to ignore the cubs, the hyenas would go behind Scars back from time to time. One instance of this occurred when a couple hyenas decided to attack cub Nala when she ventured off by herself to complete a dare. She was luckily saved by a rogue male lion known as Ni who had some help from Sarafina who jumped in to fend her daughter at the last second. Sarafina introduced herself to her daughters savior and thanked him again and again. He had to leave asap before being caught by Scar but the two would meet again on a hunt that took place right on the borders of the pride lands where Ni had stayed, worrying about the pride of lions that were now being ruled by hyenas. This is when Sarafina would introduce Ni to Sarabi and Sarabi would see him as a golden opportunity. Sarabi explained their situation and explained their worry for the male cubs before asking the question if he would harbor only two male cubs to the nearest ally pride known as the south land prides. Where young Malka resided. Ni was very hesitant but reluctantly agreed to help. They would come up with a plan to meet there the next couple of nights to make sure the coast was clear before the mission would begin.

Sarafina would be the one to meet Ni the next couple of nights. Their relationship grew and they became very passionate about one another. When the news dropped on the two male cubs that they would have to leave, they were both devastated. Especially Chumvi. He had swore a oath to protect his friends and family but now he wouldn’t be able to do this. His hardest goodbye was to his best friend Kula who was also devastated by this. With heavy hearts the cubs said goodbye to their friends, to their parents, and to the home they always knew. Sarafina would lead the cubs to the border where Ni waited, late at night and he would take them away.

From afar the hyenas watched all of this unfold. The lionesses thought they had been sneaky but they were wrong. They kept Scar up to date with all the news and at first he was angry hearing about a rouge male harboring himself at the pridelands borders but he also was happy that the lionesses were getting rid of the male cubs. He indeed did see them as a future threat but wasn’t quite sure about how to approach this. Sure he could kill them, but this would risk the lionesses turning on him and their relationship was already so fragile to begin with. So when the night came for them to leave Scar ordered some hyenas to follow the rogue from afar and not to attack until they were out of sight from any lioness of the pride. He didn’t care rather or not the hyenas killed the trio his point he wanted to get across was to never return. Ni would lead the cubs farther away from priderock towards the nearby mountains where Malkas pride resided. This meant going through the long scary gorge. However Ni agreed that going through the gorge at night might be dangerous so they would camp near the entrance until sunrise.

The next morning Ni was awoken by a small chatter of laughter. He shot his head up quickly seeing that they were being approached by a small clan of hyenas. Ni roared waking the two cubs immediately and ordered them to run. They didn’t hesitate and ran ahead of Ni deeper into the gorge. Ni swiped at a hyena and quickly caught up to the two. Tojo began to cry as his leg that he had once sprained was holding him back from running at full speed. Ni noticed this immediately and in a quick swift move he picked Chumvi up with his nose, tossing him onto his back, and grabbed Tojo with his mouth. Ni was a lot faster than the hyenas but he was worried about being pinned. He desperately looked around as he ran for a ledge he could possibly reach to get out of the trapping gorge. Luckily he spotted one and muffled to Chumvi to hold on. With a great leap, Ni was able to pull all three of them to a safe ledge that the hyenas couldn’t reach. He didn’t stop running though, knowing the hyenas would find a way to reach them in time. So he ran all the way to the mountain carrying the two cubs.

So here’s another one shot of the Ni saving Tojo and Chumvi. He is quite the hero! I wasn’t originally going to put a background so the background is very rushed. I hope everyone enjoys the lions and story though! My headcanon has slightly changed as well as Ni’s design so let me know what you think!
