Description
The mojave tortoise is a small species of desert tortoise native to the mojave desert. They are herbivorous and can eat a wide range of plants. Their plant-eating habits do not deter them to eat meat if the opportunity presents itself. Carrion can be a great source of protein in their high fiber diet.
These tortoises make burrows for themselves and for their eggs. The eggs hatch in one or two months and the babies take about 16 years to fully mature. And with their mighty 30 centimeters of lenght, they are the largest animal on the planet.
