These are added on at the end of the tutorial. Though you may want to check that you have the AVC(264) Codec first as the reason why if you still get the “Cannot Open AVI File” may be down to missing that particular codec from your system.

uh yeah, Ex ACV user here! i recommend using a program that won't give your computer aids that installs more un-uninstallable aids on top of that. after 3 or four times having that disease of a program on my computer i ended up having to reinstall windows 4 times because i had ridiculous viruses that even my antivirus couldn't get rid of it, and i realized that that was the culprit of my problems (with the other garbage programs that came with it, being the ones that i couldn't get rid of even in safe mode). since then, i had to get a new computer (because my hard drive got busted and gave my old one to my dad after my aunt and cousin fixed it) and now download anything i can as a zip file since i think there is a lesser chance of getting computer

i'm not trying to come off as rude, i'm just giving a free vaccine to everyones computers by warning them, and looking out for their motherboard's safety.

If you get a black screen you have to load a model and a motion for it to work. And if you are using ray after loading everything uncheck the sky dome from effect mapping main.

Hi, sorry to bother you and I understand if this is an old post but- the Format Factory link redirects me to...I'm guessing.. videos of girls undressing themselves? I don't know I just see the thumbnails but- is there any other converter that I can use to support the format?

I think I may know a reason why .avi videos are turning out black...
So I rendered out an 30 second .avi video and it loads fine on MMD. BUT when I re-render the same video but for 1 minute then it appears black on MMD.
Maybe the file size has something to with how the video is loaded onto mmd?
In my case, larger videos seems to turn out black on MMD....
Which still sucks because I don't know how to fix this. :/

Ok I found one solution! (it works for me at least)
So I downloaded camtasia studio 8 and rendered out my .avi file. What I've noticed is that camtasia compresses the .avi file small enough so that it can run smoothly when loaded onto MMD.
Which is great because now I can load a full song to motion track from!!

All I can tell you is where did you get the mp4 file it works better to get it from a converter and did you install both the 64 and normal version AVC(H264). I worked when I got both of them and then restarted my pc. and use this dl to get Format Factory. This is the only one that works for me I have tried 9 different programs just fallow it step by step. And also make sure your in the new mmd version just in case in whichever English or Japaneses. And if that doesn't work ill make a Video on it if you like.

Now, How can I adjust it without changing the size AGAIN to FILL THE SCREEN, without having to look at a big black bar on top, and the bottom of the video being cut off?

fyi for anyone stopping by, I think this is a better Format Factory program download: format-factory.en.softonic.com…
BE AWARE that it wants you to download at least two additional softwares beforehand! To disable them, click More Info (underneath the text blobs) and uncheck "Install (software X)"... And then once the program installs and appears, uncheck "Install Picomasa" at the bottom of that window. Then change the language to English from one of the menus at the top.
... Regardless, AVC(264), DIV, and Xvid don't work for me from this program. Uninstalling. >.>
