I did this on one of the stage I was editing, the screen is working and all but the problem now is that the screen is upside down and reversed, do you know how to fix this by any chance?

Just get an image, map it to the screen. Then change the tex map reference to "screen.bmp".

Does the display at the back of the default stage work on your system?

MMDcross In reply to Trackdancer [2018-05-25 03:17:56 +0000 UTC]
yes it worked perfectly fine. but somehow on the stage that i'm editing, found the image then changed it screen.bmp, the screen ends up showing it upside down and reversed too.

Like I said, to fix this, all you need to do is remap the screen.

Hi!! I just want to ask: I use the program PMX Editor and the model I'm making has the screen capture on it and when I load the model and turned on the screen capture mode on, it didn't work. So does the screen capture only work on .x file models?

Trackdancer In reply to Ocha-Kii [2017-05-07 22:40:14 +0000 UTC]
Yes,only works as a .x file model.

So... The secret of the capture screen is only in the name of the texture?
I can't believe that it's so easy xD

The X file won't open in PMX editor. Do I need to get PMD editor?

Yes, you'll need to use the PMD Editor instead.

I was thinking of making a screen like you have in Defoko, but circular instead of rectangular. XD;

The screen can be almost any shape. As long as it can be mapped, it's (probably) workable. They don't even have to be flat. In fact one of the screens in the stage below is actually curved:

in the part you click in ''export as generic DirectX file (include backfaces)'' you used the ''SketchUp 8'' ^^?

I used a plug-in. You have to download it separately. Sorry I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head and I'm not on my laptop atm, but you'll find it the SketchUp resource library somewhere. This one works great, easy to install and it's free.

May I ask how to get just an image on there, and not a screen capture? I remember seeing something about loading the picture with the ".AVI" option, but it isn't working...
And no, I can't just texture it. It won't open in PMD.

Trackdancer In reply to TheAwesomeMooMoo [2014-02-21 20:45:43 +0000 UTC]
You can load an image via the .avi function but it's a real bugger to do - there should be a tutorial around somewhere explaining exactly how to do it. You can also 'photoshop' an image on to the screen. That's something I do with some of my work as it's a lot easier than messing with the avi method.

Also, ON.mode03 will show anything that was set as a video background.
Very useful tutorial, by the way

so, how do you put a screen that has a different camera angle?
π: 0 β©: 2
senshi-sun In reply to BlakeJX [2017-04-14 08:41:24 +0000 UTC]
You could render a separate version of the file for the screen with the camera angles you want, put it in AVI Raw, and use the video display function instead.

Short answer: You can't
Long answer: There's an MME effect that might be able to do that but I've never really looked into it. The effect was written by BeamMan if you want to look into it further.
