I don't know why I felt so inspired to make these animal tutorials. I really hope they are helpful somehow. I keep getting feedback that they are. So here's another one.Foxes are something that nearly EVERY other tutorial on DevArt has WRONG. Here's why. Foxes are NOT like dogs. They are in the dog family, but just barely. Foxes are more like cats or raccoons than a dog.
My guide covers the main features of most foxes. I did a pretty in depth project on Red Foxes back in the day. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to remember how the skull looked exactly.

is there anyway you could do like a step by step tutorial? I don't do well unless i get step by step tutorials (thats y i normally watch youtube) but this one was really nice too. i know the shape of the head and the skeletal structure alot better now. thank you for posting this!!

Your welcome, I'm glad you go some use out of it.
Unfortunately, I don't think making this a step-by-step tutorial would make it any more or less helpful. I like to think of this as a tool for artists to use. I've broken down the animal into basic shapes and the rest is up to the artist. This way it doesn't limit the artist to one style. You can use these shapes to make a cartoon fox or a realistic one. ^^

...Fennec foxes have shorter snouts than red foxes, not longer.

I've also misspelled fennec. 
These tutorials are kind of old now and I'll be updating them eventually.

And their neater than dogs too... If you draw a line from the leftmost pad to the right most on a dog the line will cross the base pad. Not so for foxes.

Where were you bijillion years ago when I misinterpreted the ear length of an arctic fox to one of a fennec????

I think the Artic Fox is really cute :3
And the Fennec fox's ears have always creeped me out slightly
