But...I do have a question. -_-; Um, I can't seem to be able to select *all* of my lines at once. They're not all connected. But I can't go back afterward and select any previously un-selected lines either. Is there any way to clean any of my other lines as well? Or does it just work for everything you can select at once? Um, well, thanks in advance...>.>

Heey Sorry i just saw this now... don't know if you're still reading this, but if you would like to select all your black lines, you can go into Select -> Color Range -> click on the color you want to select, if it's purely black, you can either use the "sample Color" from the drop down menu, if you choose that simply click on something that's black on the page. then adjust the fuzzyness meter (the fuzzyness meter basically determines how many other shades that are close to your selected shades are to be selected just play around, it's harder to explain than it is to try it)
You can try select by "Shadow" from the same drop down menu, I haven't tried that yet, but it might work just as good Hope this helps...replying a year later...

aiya! this is so good <3
I've yet to learn how to use the pen tool though @_@
Stupid PS and its confuckulations XD
Why couldn't they just have a button you could click that says "convert into line art on separate layer" It'd make life soo much easier @_@

such an excellent tutorial - i never imagined that there could be a quick way around the pen tool, but you found it! once again, excellent work - you made it extremely easy to follow which is always good.
i just need to favorite this (even if it's already been favorited like heck) because it is just indeed so informative and useful. more people need to see it
