Description
I wanted to try to do some knotwork in wood, but with each element being a separate bead. The simple 3 strand braid seemed to be the best/simplest pattern to try that.
Sawed, drilled, sanded from an old plank that was gathering dust in the attic. Probably pine or fir wood.
The strings visible here are not the final ones, it was just a test to see if it worked. And the "beads" are numbered because they fitted better if they were kept in the order I sawed them.
The finished version

Thanks a lot
And yes, it's smooth and rather comfortable - even for someone like me, not used to wearing bracelets.

Thanks
Sure you can do something like that too. (Send a photo then )
At the moment I'm trying to do a 2nd bracelet like that (because my mother asked), and I realize it's a bit boring. I don't like doing things more than once.

I love this idea, and I have had something similar brewing in my head for awhile...
I'm curious, how do the beads string together?

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this. the design is totally knot work, but brilliant. (I think the wood is fir, or possibly spruce, bt not pine) anyway it is brilliant

Woops, I didn't see that question (it didn't show up in my message center).
That was a very thin saw, I think the English name is a scrollsaw.

Impressive. It's a pitty there aren't many women working on wood (the few I've met were all on deviantArt)
